None of these tend to make the watch work better, it's all aesthetics

In brands with budget watches there might be a better spring (actually matters for isochronism and/or running time) for the not budget version. They may also take another common movement and change parts out with custom pieces for greater functionality/durability/efficiency (might just be marketing memes)

Lange keeps focusing on massive baroque complications. It's neat to see a tourbillon triple flyback perpetual calendar dual power reserve outsize date piece, but it's not going to cause much of a buzz.
If they released something that even hints at a sports watch, like a vaguely Flieger-inspired design in steel with a movement finished to the Lange standard, it would cause an absolute sensation.

What's the point of a plain 3-hand flieger from Lange? They have a thing that they're very good at and they're not a big company, there's no point trying to come up with a model to fit every possible bastardized niche. Most companies making fliegers aren't looking to expand into platinum grand complications, either.

Same point as the FP Journe Chronomètre Bleu, or the PP Calatrava, or the AP Royal Oak.

Yeah, FP Journe, Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet, ... all don't want to make the best high end watches they can. They're basically shitters which is why they make "sports" watches.

What is a brand that does designs like ALS and has a very similar aesthetic but makes things in steel and is cheap enough for the normal person to get? Maybe 4K or less?
