You need to know that Martin himself wouldn't want you to buy the gats; he would want you to find a pair of sneakers that you yourself like and customize them tastefully as an expression of your own artistic intent, just as he did when he originally stumbled upon the trainers in the late 90's.

There was a post in the recent cops thread where someone did DIY'd pair of painted sneakers (stan smiths) that actually looked decent. I encourage you to do the same, buy some regular sneakers and not waste your money, or get something actually unique and creative from a smaller designer who's vision you understand and care about.

There will be plenty of uniformed hacks out there to support these luxury houses, don't worry. You don't need to be one of them.

Have you been to r/streetwear? No one there is unique or tasteful. The top posts are consistently hypebeast trash. The DIY there is not creative and has no sense of self-awareness and regard for history. Regular sneakers are fine so long as you aren't trying to be fashionable. By smaller designer of course I don't mean cav empt or some other garbage; this route also requires you to know something about fashion to make the proper decisions.

At the end of the day it is about expanding our understanding of aesthetics and balancing the infinite number of critical opinions on a given piece at once, in a manner which is both effortless and pristine.

Nah there's something off about those. They simply aren't as good.

The front texture is too bulky, the logo stripes are horrible, the "samba" is distasteful, and the sole colour is too dark.
