I want to tell you about how /fa/ helped my brother today. Been lurking here for years and wanted to share this...
My brother is recently divorced from a woman he was with since 15, and has never had to take much care of how he looks. We're talking cargo shorts and anime t-shirts. He's also pretty heavy, hovering around 300 pounds. He told me the other day that his only pair of pants are his cargo pants, and I said, "That's ridiculous, we're getting you pants."
So today I take him to a few stores and I got him to try some athletic slim jeans and some button down plaid shirts. When he came out of the dressing room in the first pair of jeans that fit him really well, I honestly almost wanted to cry. He looked great. He looked like someone who could have some confidence. Such a huge improvement just from wearing a pair of pants that fit properly and handsomely, and he didn't have to shed a pound of weight.
That, to me, is what /fa/ is all about - men sharing and learning how to look good and feel good in clothes. It can be such a huge gift to empower someone with a little style, and I'm thankful for having picked up some of that knowledge over the years here.
