$315 for a 50ml isn't that bad. that's... $6.30/ml. if you want to look at the upper-upper end of production perfume look at jar parfums and clive christian.

clive christian no 1 is $12.5/ml or $375 for a 30ml bottle. that's their flagship, they have exotics and extraits that are priced much higher.
jar bolt of lightning is $25.50/ml, or $765 for a 30ml bottle
di ser makes an extrait perfume that clocks in at $34.85/ml, or $1150 for a 33ml bottle
amouage attars float around $33/ml

after that you get novelty products and iced out bottles that inflate the retail price. even the clive christian example is disputable since they tout their crystal bottles. the rest named here though are top price perfumes in ordinary glass bottles produced regularly.

Their early work was a little too floral for my taste but when Cool Water came out in 88 I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The cologne has a crisp, clear, smell and a new accord of environmental sandalwood that really gives the cologne a big boost. It’s been to Green Irish Tweed but I think Cool Water has a far more refreshing aquatic, smell.

I think their undisputed masterpiece is the classic orginal Cool Water, a cologne so refreshing most people don’t care about the dry down, but they should because it’s not just a soft Cotten smell with some floral notes it’s a personal statement about the fragrance industry itself.

My sample of picrelated just came in. First impression: I don't get it. Smells acidic-citreous, not like white flowers with some citrus like I expected. Will test more thoroughly and post an update if something changes
