Us in the dedicated fragrance thread usually suggest that when gifting, you do samples (maybe pick a few that you would enjoy smelling on him) and a gift certificate. Fragrance is personal and there is nothing worse than feeling obligated to wear a fragrance you don't enjoy because it was a gift.

Versace Eros has gotten me the most compliments. I've used all the store brands like Versace, Armani, Mont Blanc, etc, along with stuff like Creed. Versace is still in heavy rotation for the summer. However being a summery scent I'd feel wearing it around Christmas
