Am I wrong for thinking that Clinique Happy for men is the best citrus fragrance ever? I've tried the Allure line, a bunch of stuff from Atelier and a couple of Aqua di Parma looking for something similar or better but I always come back to Happy. There's something about it that's just so fucking pleasant.

Arabian oils anon here, long time no see. About to order another batch of oils. Anything you'd wish me to test from Surrati/Swiss Arabian?

I finally smelled Nasomatto Black Afgano and it's absolutely mindblowing. Surrati's dupe doesn't come close. Honestly the dupe even doesn't remind it much given that it's lacking Nasomatto's deep smokey feel.

I also recently bought a bottle of Kouros and Burberry London. I should've rather got 100ml of Kouros and 50ml (or less) of Burberry but I was afraid of YSL thanks to some fags shitting on it in these threads but now I'm absolutely in love with it, on the other hand I can't think of many occasions other than Christmas dinners to wear Burberry. It's simply too sweet in a numale way.

Is L'Occitane Eau Des Baux way better on skin than on testing strip or it is another /frag/ meme? I was so big on testing this stuff thanks to opinions in these threads and notes on fragrantica but it was absolutely disappointing on a testing strip. Incense and cypress is absolutely not as prominent as I expected, it's just another fresh vanilla scent and in this category in my opinion JPG Le Male does a way better job. Does anyone else relate to this or I should give it another try on skin?

When I first started coming here ~1yr AGOMMM was mentioned quite a bit, but not so much nowadays. I just purchased Jazz Club yesterday and had the girl make me samples of At the Barbers and BTF (I already have BTF but wanted to get one for my nephew). I just put on At the Barbers and I'm in love. It's been about an hour and it isn't lightening up at all. It's like a regular fougerre but mellowed out and sweet, which eliminates the grandpa accord. Modern but classic at the same time. Went to Fragrantica to see what people thought of it and reactions are mixed. What do you guys think of it? Regardless, I think I'm bumping this to the top of my list for bottles to buy.

Did you mix your oils with alcohol to try to make them project more? Was it really olfactory fatigue or the oils actually didn't perform very well? Good but you can't wear it unless it's cold out, or maybe at night. The honey is a little overpowering so it can smell powdery (like an old lady!) but the tobacco is really nice. Lasts forever and leaves a nice scent on your scarf or on the cuffs of your coat

I love soapy vetivers, although I can stand slightly earthy ones if there's a bit of citrus to balance it. Can't stand Encre Noire, though I wish I did since I live near a forest.
Since I like soapy and citrus frags for the summer for work and casual occassions, is it worth looking into Original Vetiver or even Light Blue Italian Zest?
I don't want to spend a lot of money on OV if its more or less a refined Mugler Cologne, which is what fragrantica suggests it is...

Want something for every day use, ie. work and just out and about. I'm not really a party or club kinda person. Really like the smell of Invictus, tried loads today but Invictus stands out the most to me. I keep getting whiffs of it and I just really really like it.

What's better is everyone says girls love it too, but I've heard it's more of a party, night time, clubbing fragrance and that it doesn't really suit an everyday wear.

Is that even a thing? What would be the issue of wearing it to work?

I'm 23 if that matters.

It's good. Chanel frags aren't projection beasts but they do last. I can get a full work day in and still catch whiffs at the end of the day. I just recently bought the Parfum version and it's amazing, but the performance is not as good as EDP. It lasts but is more subtle.

Funnily enough, it's marketed as an eau de cologne, but has good performance. easily 8 plus hours, with a nice bubble around you. If you have a Nordstrom close by, I'd suggest you to smell it. Sprayed some Royal Oud on my wrist for the first time about a half hour ago. Pretty enjoyable so far. It smells like La Nuit de L'homme to me, but probably because I still dont have a lot to compare it to.

Very dry cedar rounded with sandlewood, with some aromatic spiciness, and a touch of sweetness. Dont get much of the smokiness or tobacco that people mention.

Definitely mature, but by no means old or outdated.

It’s just that historically, Jeremy is kind of a failure. Failed to break through and hit it really big in the music industry. Failed to become a mainstream model. I'm very much not into fragrances atm but kind of wanna slowly get into it, would this be a good frag to wear on many occasions, i.e. fine for going to uni/just out with friends/at a club or a party? Cause I'm a student I want to have a nice frag I can use for as many situations as possible since I don't have a large disposable income

I'd recommend asking for samples of what interests you at the local department store.
Failing that just try them on card and on skin and find the one that's right for you as an all purpose frag. Then with the rest of the frags you like, try to pin down moods or ocassions to wear them and work from there :)

If you're gonna go the traditional versatility route and want to get something like this that is pleasant and will pretty much be liked by everybody, I'd say you save up some coin and invest in a bottle of Bleu de Chanel EDP. It does what those others do, but better, and classier. I've recommended it here to newbies who want just that perfect all around frag that truly does smell great despite all the shit it gets. I know it's up in price and Chanel is notorious for never discounting or allowing discounters to sell it, but trust me when I say that it's the best investment for you atm. It's quality juice.

They're different. Also you can probably find some barely used bottle for bargain on ebay, especially after Christmas. That's what I do with all more expensive scents; I either buy decants/splits or buy used bottles on ebay. Buying more than 3-4 100ml bottles a year is pointless if you don't just collect fragrances but want to actually use them.

I've been reseraching quality cheapies on fragrantica/basenotes forum lately. May expand the list and share them with you if there is any interest. But holy shit, tell me guys why Cartier and Lalique house are so based. They make luxurious smells on par with Guerlain etc for bargain. Also the Jacques Bogart house seems to be underrated if someone is into powerhouses.

Parfum is really, really nice, but idk about it being worth it. I did buy only because I'm a completists wanker who actually loves the line. For me it was, but for people who don't care so much for Bleu, I'd say no. It's preformance is good but soft if that makes any sense. Lingers strongly but doesn't project. It's sweeter and darker than EDP and has almost a floral note that blends well with the intense woodiness. I feel it's the complete version of BDC.

EDT is tangier, sportier. It's nice and projects well but there is a big difference in smell. EDP is richer and has an incense note that rounds it out that I love. Go to your local department store and give them a smell. Only way to tell which you'll end up liking better.

Nautica voyage at the moment because it's my cheap daily summer spray (it's summer here now) and I can smell it on me all day, same with my TF Ombre Leather, unless maybe my nose gets used to smell moreso with creed than other frags..

I really like BdC. Not too 90s fresh, and not sweet. But i feel like i missed the train. I'm 26, so there's a pretty good chance people i meet will have the scent associated with someone else who wore it 5 years ago

Any scents like it in the sense that they are crowd-pleasing but inoffensive? I don't mind paying up for niche frags. If anything that's a plus as it makes it less likely people already associate it with someone
