I own a pair and have another one order through White's that i hope will be done and to me by the end of the month.
Best boots i have ever worn, hands down. That's why i bought another pair. I have them in chromexcel and that's when i found out i hate Chromexcel. But i ordered a pair in White's brown oiled smooth leather so i can wear the hell out of it and not feel like babying it like with Chromexcel, which scratches and scuffs super easily so I'm afraid to really wear it hard. The Arch Ease they do is amazing, no boots I have owned have supported my feet the way White's do.

Get them and you won't regret it.

they have other leathers, i just prefer the look of chromexcel, i agree given the type of leahter it's insane, but the thing is they hand make every single one, so they drive the price up. personally I would prefer them machine made if it meant a lower price, but hey these are the boots I like

Order through Baker's and you have way more leather options for cheaper. They're cheaper than through White's and you can get 10% off for signing up to their newsletter.
They have all the Chromexcel as well as black and brown dress leather, black, brown oiled smooth, roughout of all colors, horsehide and more.

My brown oiled smooths are in production, I hope to get them by the end of the month. If you check out Baker's they have all the leather options. I think there's almost 20 to choose from. As for what it looks like just Google "White's ..." And pick the leather.

Their structured toe isn't like Red Wing where it's a big bump or anything. It's literally just a plastic insert in the tow that prevents the toe from collapsing over time. It doesn't add to the shape or anything. I see no downside to having it.

Structured toe is not the same as cap toe. Cap toe is just you preference if it's your desired aesthetic. I think the MP boots look best with the cap toe

The celestic insert in the toe is from the inside just to give structure to the toe. The cap toe would go over the toes. You can get both.

I just hate how the finish scratches off so easily. Just barely touching it means it's gone and once it's gone, it's not coming back unless you use polish or something. That really bothered me and made me want another pair of these in oil tanned leather instead for more durability.

Some chromexcel leathers have creasing aesthetic that's less cool than normal $400 leather shoes, that's the problem it seems.

Son you get moisturizer like a lotion for them. Dry leather looks like shit and cracks. Polish is needed to protect them so they don't scuff and scratch up. Especially on the toe cap and back heel. If you are going to spend money on shoes at least know how to protect your investment. You might as well buy 20 dollar Walmart shoes with your ineptitude.

I've some footwear that is oil infused pull up leather which isn't CXL and they are really great. CXL itself isn't super impressive but imho it is decent when decent.

Only items that manage to endure 10+ years are my adidas climacool trackpants and my cologne bottle while I throw off 2 sweatshirt, 1 sweatpants, 1 chino pants, 3 jeans, 5+ polo shirts, 1 scotland wool sweater, etc just by having holes of various degrees.

Most adults keep their clothes a long time, I know that this is a concept that most of the underages on /fa/ with their jogger pants and techwear can't seem to grasp, but the older you get the longer you keep your stuff.
The idea of an adult buying boots and keeping them for 10+ years isn't that strange.

CXL is a method of infusing fats back into the leather so any top coating is an entirely different matter which is completely independent of the CXL process. Perhaps your issue is maybe with Horween putting out too much of this "brand" of leather to discount shoe manufacturers? I'm not 100% sure I buy that either.

As in are the 3x better then a similar 200 dollar boot no, not even close, but the quality will be noticeable better. I mean you could look at it as an investment but that is kinda bullshit, if you take care of a 200 dollar pair of boots then they will likely last you just as long. The people who say to the contrary probably are not even 2 decades old so what the fuck do they know. If you really need to justify it just realize that its only 670 dollars which in the grand scheme of things isn't a ton but you might be dissapointed when you spend the better part of a grand on a pair of boots that the vast majority of people will hardly notice. If you really like them get them its not going to ruin you financially but it is a safer bet not to, as with any expensive article of clothing its not going to change your life so keep that in mind. Expensive Clothing =/= Happiness
