Honestly a good question that I'm not sure how to answer. Its like, there are situations where certain clothes would be inappropriate, and I think its similar with fragrance. And in the same way you could wear a suit day to day, but you cant wear a tshirt to a wedding, I think you could wear, say, Dior Homme Intense everyday, you 'probably' dont want to wear ultra male to a wedding.

I would describe formal scents as more austere, subdued, but also luxurious. Cotton candy does not have the same olfactory impression as leather.

This is tripe. The only people who talk of fragrances like this are us autistic fucks on the Internet. Literally nobody gives a shit what you smell like on any occasion unless you stink. You can take the best smelling fragrance and the worst smelling fragrance and overspray and they'll both get negative reactions. This "seasonal scents" crap is for the birds. Wear it conservatively and anything can smell pleasant. You can pull Axe off at a wedding and that's just the truth of it.

It shall be a holy anointing oil. 26 With it you shall anoint the tabernacle of meeting and the ark of the Testimony; 27 the table and all its utensils, the lampstand and its utensils, and the altar of incense; 28 the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the laver and its base. 29 You shall consecrate them, that they may be most holy; whatever touches them must be holy. 30 And you shall anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister to Me as priests.

31 “And you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘This shall be a holy anointing oil to Me throughout your generations. 32 It shall not be poured on man’s flesh; nor shall you make any other like it, according to its composition. It is holy, and it shall be holy to you. 33 Whoever compounds any like it, or whoever puts any of it on an outsider, shall be cut off from his people.’ ”

Don't buy into the autismo "collection" meme. Those are not for effay people, they are for neckbeards and losers. The people on the forums with giant collections are mostly adult man-children with a lack of hobbies to use their disposable income on.

With that said, there is no way to be "into fragrances" if you own one bottle of bleu that you picked up from the local department store to use on nights out on the town.

There is a happy (healthy) medium somewhere between these extremes. I don't want to speak for all of us, but I literally own one full bottle, a handful of decants, and usually have a handful of samples at a time (because I am picky).

You're a rotting tree. When you were alive, you spent a few hundred years enjoying a peaceful and sumptuously windy existence. You would even boast to the other trees, because your leaves and branches were always plentiful, because wildlife from all over called you their home, because lovers even carved their names in your sides. Everything was perfect until insects found you and bored into you and began tearing you apart from inside. You loosened, and you crumbled, and your whole trunk broke off and fell to the ground. Do you remember watching it erode over time while you were left as a helpless, rotting stump? Currently, your existence is not a pretty one. Every day, you're plagued by incurable necrosis. Every day, you're sprayed with urine by all kinds of animals as they mark their territory. Every day, you're sent rose petals by the wind, as if it, too, mourned your death. Congratulations, tree. Okay gang, I need your help and your brutal honesty. Going to Macy's tomorrow to pick up Bleu de Chanel. Do I go with EDP or Parfum. I've smelled both and like them both but do like Parfum a bit better. I read that the Parfum's performance is not good. Should I pull the trigger and drop 150 bucks for the Parfum or stick with EDP? Anybody here own or worn both that can give an honest opinion on performance?

EdP is more versatile for summer. It also gets a full work day of performance, though new bottles need a few months to mature. The first few wears from a freshly opened bottle of Bleu will only last 3-5 hours. It gets stronger as the juice inside had time to macerate.
I like the parfum well enough but haven't given it much summer wear. It offers good longevity fresh out of the box and is more mature than the EdP. I don't think it's worth the price premium over the EdP if you are looking to wear it year round.

Aventus

It wasn’t until I got home that I realised I’d basically been jerememed. But I love them so it’s fine.

I was going to buy Tuscan Leather but they only had 100ml.

I think I've found a frag that I cannot yet effectively pull off - Dior Homme Parfum. You probably all know how Dior Homme iris feels.

Dior Homme is "Hello!"
Dior Homme Eau is "Greetings! Don't forget about 3 PM meeting"
Dior Homme Intense is "Mind if we go to my place?"
And Dior Homme Parfum is something along the lines of "I fucked your bitch and now I am going to fuck you"

It's such a RICH scent it requires insane amount of confidence. I can wear DHI and before getting DHP I thought it was "in your face", "the fuck you" of iris at luxury level. With that said I did not expect DHP being so heavy on woody notes (yeah, I blind bought it). Leather along with the wood make it heavily masculine - and then comes the iris magic. So called "lipstick note" is so pronounced it makes entire experience surreal. DHP has both extremes in one bottle: ultra masculine and borderline feminine. This is fantastic, this is something else. At the moment I do not know how am I going to wear it and when but I do know that I'll make use of it.

>> No.13905208

>>13904549
In all honesty, I'd just go with Edp. Parfum is nice but the difference is negligible. It is a bit darker and sweeter but it's almost feminine smelling. Also overpriced like a motherfucker. You can get huge 5oz Edp for the same price as a 100ml of Parfum which wears almost like a fragrance oil. Also, idk if it's just me but the Parfum opens with more citrus and sharper than edp but dries down sweetly. I like the incense in Edp.

That's intentional. When Creed were founded in 50,000 BC they decided that only the strongest and most determined of individuals would be allowed access to their scents. Work sets you free, and Creed is freedom.
>Second. Why the fuck does it spray so much out?
Creed know that their customers are chads, (even if they weren't chads, they are now they've bought Creed) and such they want to enable them the achieve a chad miasma with as much ease as possible.

Their free shipping is the cheapest FedEx ground service. This usually gets to CA from NJ within 4-5 days for most of the year, but gets pushed back on the priority list during the holiday season so that delivery takes about 9 days from shipment.
While transit delays aren't Fragnet's fault specifically, they are in fact slow to pack and ship orders prior to packages getting into FedEx's hands. This order was placed on 11/25 (Sun) and a tracking number was generated on 11/29 (Thu). The package didn't arrive at FedEx until 12/1 (Sat).

I have no idea but I will tell you that the edt has better performance. the edp is a richer scent and a lot more safe but it sits closer to the skin. the edt has a strong earthy vetiver and the bitter orange is prominent. projects like an animal too.

That's literally what nichefags do. They rally against "The Normie" "The NPC" who likes a good sweet, mass appealing frag. And for what? Because "they" are all the same. The people who are "fans" of these frags are all "dumb, meathead clubbing douchebags who get pussy".

I know I'll come across as a lazy, ignorant cunt but I don't own any cologne. What is the most versatile, inoffensive fragrance that I can wear anytime without giving it any thought? A jack-of-all-trades of sorts?

Bleu de Chanel EDP. Most versatile fragrance available. Pay no mind to what people here say about it. It's a masterfully blended, clean, fresh, slightly dark fragrance with good performance. Save up you good boy points and buy a bottle. It's not cheap but it's the best at doing what you're describing. You won't get anything better in terms of versatility.

Nichefags use this logic as a coping mechanism in case their frags don't garner them the attention they want.

>w-well I'm not wearing it for them anyway, just for me, because only a sophisticated nose like mine can appreciate the nuanced notes such as earthworm and gravestone lolol normiefags

They wear shit like this because they know they need that extra something that gives them he edge over Chad who doesn't need to think too hard about how he smells. He sprays half a can of axe and walks around with that big dick energy and gets the attention whether he likes it or not. Look at Jeremy. He's the only guy who tells the truth about fragrances. He does do niche but knows that women love designer scents and so will often promote these more than more obscure houses full of overpriced bathwater. You know why? Because he's fucking attractive. You put icing on a cake and its that much better. Jeremy is fine, and putting on a delicious designer frag is simple arithmetic to a handsome fuck like himself. You put nicheswill on an ugly fuck an you get a guy who reads in his corner while bathing himself in musc ravageur and puts his nose up at "college fratboy meatheads who only think with their dick haha lmao what plebs lol" Its pure cope. Through and through.

When I first started coming here ~1yr AGOMMM was mentioned quite a bit, but not so much nowadays. I just purchased Jazz Club yesterday and had the girl make me samples of At the Barbers and BTF (I already have BTF but wanted to get one for my nephew). I just put on At the Barbers and I'm in love. It's been about an hour and it isn't lightening up at all. It's like a regular fougerre but mellowed out and sweet, which eliminates the grandpa accord. Modern but classic at the same time. Went to Fragrantica to see what people thought of it and reactions are mixed. What do you guys think of it? Regardless, I think I'm bumping this to the top of my list for bottles to buy.
