What is avant-garde now ?

10 years ago here we could forecast what would be big, what is avant-garde : techwear, goof ninja, lunarcore, palewave, minimalism normcore, bombers revival, top knot...
But now ?

Is creativity dead ?

You have either zoomers dressing with Supreme, old 90s sportswear, Off White, graphic tees, Gucci, Balenciaga...
Or Boomers playing safe with overcoat + Saint Laurent etc.
And some old /fa/ core style : techwear, Rick, Raf Simons, CDG...

What's your opinion ?

Avant-garde of tomorrow will be suits, prep etc. with creative patterns, loose and casual fits, plenty of colours... basically the attempt to take conservative clothing and "free" it.

90s revival is a dying trend at this point, if you walk into an h&m you'll see that like half of their shit is 90s revival. it's just how a huge amount of people dress, mostly west coast zoomers. anything interesting that can be done with it has been done already. 2000s is next.

90s revival has been popular in urban outfitters et al for a good 2 years now. 2000s has been less popular but still *there* for the same amount of time with wallet chains being worn and UK chav style references. no idea what will be next but 2000s is now being spouted in Dazed, Bazaar and other similar wine mum rags. The late 90s / 00s wavey stuff has been around for years though, I can’t see it lasting long. Wyatts, teddy jacket and crash denim was the Balenciaga and Gucci of 2014 and that died overnight in terms of ‘instagram fashion’
