Vlastislav /SVEC Koutny does the footwear in the correct way but he also has quite a long waiting list. But his are basically the best shoes you can buy when it comes to ww2 footwear. There is nothing comparable made by any company. I think his mountain boots really are the best thing to get made by him because he does the real hand welting double or tripple if you want

SM Wholesale is really not that good. I own two camo smocks, some uniforms and boots where so shit I sold them years ago.

You might be thinking of the other guy who lied about sewing through the sole of the boots he made. Berger does ww1 stuff too but ww2 just jackboots and low boots. If you want to have a good boot and dont really care about reenactment go with koutny.
Schuster is also terrible. I've researched so much into this topic now that I can safely say most of the productions today are absolute shit. Do not trust anything made in eastern europe or asia. Asia is only good for mtm but terrible material choices but ok quality most of the time and they forget details. Russian and Polish made is always ill fitting and low quality materials.

Are Elsenau's M43s the best out there? I've been comparing lots of M43s recently and Elsenau's look the best and have a variety of wool choices as well.

Stitching is pretty low quality on the stuff that I owned with ugly poly thread. They used black thread on a camo smock for example which looked ugly as hell. The service shirts aren't in the correct fabric. They use some weird canvas instead of trikot. You'll sweat like hell. Would not recommend. What about ATF wool uniforms? I know they use original texled patterns from the original manufacturer. Also the owner is a collector and actually owns a lot of uniforms and they have a pretty in dept information about what the German sizing system was.

And the fabric looks the same. I've seen high Res photos of original Wehrmacht tunics and it looks pretty correct with the ATF ones.
