Add boxes, that gives an instant clean look to a room because the shit is just hidden. You can find nice ideas in IKEA but if you wanna go for a japanese small cramped appartement look like another said, I would recommand looking up MUJI shop for ideas. I know it exist in europe, I dunno about the US tho. I wouldn't say buy stuff from there but They can give you a few ideas on that cramped appartement look

yeah, it's new york so rent is high. I share it with my girlfriend however which makes a huge difference.

It's funny how newer buildings try and pack in the amenities but often miss the mark on quality hardwood flooring, decent closet and counter space. I'd live practically anywhere if I could rent out a floor of a two family house, hardwood flooring throughout, old gas range, tons of kitchen space. that's my (realistic) dream apartment.

NYC is insanely comfy for being one of the largest cities on the planet. I can't explain why but it has a lot of soul that places like Los Angeles or Beijing don't. Spent a week there in Queens and I liked it despite usually disliking city life. The apartments are very very cozy.
