Yeah, for sure. Definitely keep growing out the top especially. It takes a surprising amount of time for it to get caught up with the sides and back because geometry.. so keep the sides and back trim to avoid a mullet phase. And keep persisting with the crown area grow out. It will look really good with your loose curls to be able to sweep them back when they're long enough and have more weight

Yes, I sort of have the exact same type of hair. Do you shampoo? Because I'd advise against that. Maybe occasionally, like very occasionally, but just stick with water and your fingers to scrub your scalp in the shower. Then pat with towel, don't run it all over roughly because it'll frizz it up

Occasional apple cider vinegar rinse should help that.. feels gross to wash your hair with it, but hair loves it.
Though if you get caught in the rain the same day you might smell a touch vinegar-y, fair warning. Do it on a sunny day or just fucking own that Eau d'ACV and suffer for fashion.

so I've been co-washing lately and it helps a lot with my hair which usualy gets oily real quick and also makes it look more kempt

Okay so get this right: I have extremely curly hair that balls up into an afro of sorts, but not the good kind because I'm not black. It looks really fucking bad.

A little while ago I decided to start straightening my hair and go for an undercut. I've been growing my hair out for quite a while and still keeping with the undercut.

So right now my hair reaches the start of my neck when slicked back, and the ends are very damaged due to constant use of a hair straightener. I've recently started using a blow dryer instead to give it more volume rather than a simple straight, flattened look, and I prefer it much more.

So what I'm wondering is should I cut my hair shorter so that it's not hanging so low from the back? I've been combing it to the side but it makes me look like pic related basically.

Went in trying to ask for an undercut type look. After stammering through kinda what I wanted, the barber asked if I wanted a section cut. He used his hair as an example and it was pretty much what I wanted. But my last one was fucked up and assymetrical so I keeping it to the side for a few weeks till it even out.
