It's not surprising, she was a model.
She's also fluent in several languages, attractive in her own right, and married to a wealthy, high class new york businessman. Looks, intelligence, status, money, etc.
Sure, the money is largely due to her marrying into it, but it didn't just happen. Attracting a mate has its own challenges. Although again being a model means she had a good deal of money on her own, but I'm repeating myself now.
