Gonna buy a suit, but don't know what color to get. I'm thinking either charcoal grey or navy blue. Leaning towards the grey because I don't really like navy blue suits.

Black, grey and blue are the standard easy to get choices.

Always wear black shoes and belt with your black suit. Brown shoes and belt with the blue. You can use black or brown for your grey.

This guide is also useful. Not about colors but nonetheless useful.

Not sure what you'll be doing with it but navy blue is more "open and friendly". Also, whatever money you spend on it, unless its custom made, then remember you'll need to have it tailored.

You are safe with the charcoal suit...slim or tailored fit...
In a black suit you will look like a student or a security guy.

Charcoal slim fit suit, white cutaway single collar slim fit shirt, black belt, black oxford shoes and you are sorted...

Navy suit for summer or sunny days, charcoal for cloudy, cold days...

don't wear brown shoes to navy suits in any kind of even semi formal event or work except if you know exactly what you're doing.

>> No.13620591

Get the charcoal first, then maybe the navy if you decide you need another one. check out gentleman's gazette if ya wanna find out more, they really helped me get started.

Why would you wear a "colorfull" suit with black shoes/belt? As the other anons said navy looks more modern and friendly than grey/black so you should wear brown shoes/belt with it to give it a less stuffily look.
