well what do you expect from malnourished child slaves
at least it's cheap, and still better than most chinisium interweb clothes

That's the reason why I only buy good brands like hilfiger, ralph lauren, burberrys etc

has great stuff if you know what to buy.
H&M Edition and Studio line is a safe buy, quality is top for the price

>> No.13614182

hilfiger is shit quality that breaks just as fast as h&m.
prl is decent if bought on sale, especially knitwear
burberry is good quality but it is like 5 times as expensive as the other two

>> No.13614187

>>13614181
but that's expensive as fuck. For 100 euros you can buy a made in England wool sweater from John Smedley on sale that lasts forever, why would you buy H&M then.

There are worlds between hilfiger and h&m. and burberrys is affordable

>on sale
you think I didnt buy that stuff on sale ? they dont change the tags when you buy from the online store. Even for 100€ its a 100% cashmere sweater with really good quality. Its a shame they dont have them in most of their retail stores.

You do understand these brands are the stereotypical middleclass brands that show you have some amount of money? They are all shit quality

Better than h&m, that's for sure. I like these.

>> No.13614213

I used to buy shit from h&m when it was cool. And there weren't enough of them around yet to be oversaturated.

Only thing that held up, some vegan leather boots I got forn$9 and wore maybe 5 times had ykk zippers

And a pair of leather gloves

Literally everything else fell apart, random holes sticking unraveled buttons fell off in the wash

Or colors ran to look ugly

I got 5 wears out of an h&m dress shirt then the buttons started falling off in the laundry or the placket gets baconed

Suits the button actually break if you get them dry cleaned they don't hold up to the chemicals and tumbling

Suits pant zippers fail on the 10th wear

>> No.13614214

>>13614207
they arent better than H&M
go to a store and compare H&M studio line leather jackets to any of those mentioned brands
you'll see that the H&M one is of much higher quality, no comparison. When they first launched that line i was really suprised how good it is, no joke. If you dont believe me go to a store right now or buy them online, they got free returns

>> No.13614218

Meanwhile I have had zegna wool pants get moth eaten before anything went wrong with them.

Valentino is super cheap and great quality.

I wear a cotton pant + cotton jacket combo to work freq

That was $325 on sale at Saks off fifth

And the h&m suits are like $125

youre comparing sale prices to retail, if you buy H&M on sale its dirt cheap and no one really buys suits there and if they do they deserve to get ripped off

Imo it's worth to check out their sales, sometimes you can grab good pieces for less than a tenner.
pic related, haideresque hoodie for ~10usd, fits in a beautiful manner and it'll look even better if it gets more fucked up

before the practice of outsourcing manufacturing, all factory labour was performed by women children and the elderly, who were previously not expected to work, yet economic condition of the country sweatshop practices originated in (england) necessitated deriving increased income to meet price of living.

labour conditions slowly improved to the extent that child labour and exploitation of the elderly were deemed socially unacceptable, and machinist jobs were instead given to males within the working class.

manufacturing, esp in apparel but certainly of other items may have existed as some kind of noble pursuit for a period of years, however as wages rose so too did the desire to increase profits, so the practice of manufacturing in countries with less "restrictive" governance systems began.

this was most obvious within post war america and to some extent england, where less developed nations were economically destabilised to disrupt the traditional farming practices of populations. they coupled this with creation of the lure of paid labour in manufacturing, something that had not previously existed, as first world nations set up factories within nations with what amounted to the same conditions of english sweatshops, but without the eye of the public forcing rapid development in wage rates.

the practice is basically the same in each country this system is installed within: set up in a nation with weak social protections, generally after destabilisation when an existing government is either "convinced" (due to high international debt (mainly to world bank) or a compliant party is placed in power (often due to inherent corruption or "intervention" from foreign interests) to enter free trade agreements with more developed nations (generally the us).

these "developing" nations often have no unionisation or social protection, so the cycle of employing vulnerable groups can begin with basically no oversight.
