Is heavyweight denim meme or actually good material after breaking in?

It's a fucking meme for spergs. I fell for it and three months later I was still uncomfortable as fuck and had iffy fitting pants on.

It is a meme for the most part. Just buy a pair of japan blues for $100, get them hemmed, and don't cuff them or show off the selvedge. Treat them as if they are normal jeans and wash them.

Is it possible to get raw denim fade enough to a light wash colour like pic related?

I've got a pair of N&F that I haven't washed in 10 months.

Honestly it's a preference/climate thing. 21oz jeans feel great after a short break in, and it's like wearing light armor. You can walk through thick bushes without feeling the twigs poke you, dogs can jump on you and you won't feel their nails scratch you. And they will keep you warm and comfy in the winter or if you live in a cold climate. Denimfags get way too invested in babying their heavyweight jeans. My philosophy is to let the heavyweight jeans baby you. It should be a more practical choice than a stylistic choice desu

Iron Heart's flagship fabric is 23oz after shrinking, and supposedly it's breathable enough to wear all year. I
also vouch for Japan Blue. The 01 fabric ages better than just about everything else at that price point.

This. I wore heavy denim Momotaro jeans with a thick Tanner Goods belt back in 2013 and did the whole breaking in, fading pattern and soaking in sea salt thing. Most uncomfortable jeans i've ever owned. Horrible smell and skin irritation due to those sandpaper jeans rubbing on my legs. God what a faggot I was bacak then. Never again.

Lmao you didn't even wash your jeans when they got smelly and irritated your skin? You got memed on hard, anon. Way to show those critical thinking skills.

I was really into stacking when I got into raw denim, but the style died off. It looks a lot messier but I still think the fades it makes are incredible and it gives off. another issue is that the denim has to be really skinny for it to look right

Ad pictures are always shit. For some reason, Edwin suggests that these jeans should be worn sagging on the hip, while I feel that they look way better when worn on the waist. That's why they're looser on the hip, to fit over the ass of anyone not a skeleton twink.

makes sense because it's a "new" type of jeans that doesn't require the old shrinking process
