Compared to men’s fashion, it seems so bland. Designer clothing looks so similar to fast fashion brands. Even their outfits look the exact some, they all have the same color combinations or the style of fit (e.g. skinny jeans or short shorts). Shouldn’t they be able to make really interesting outfits based on the amount of freedom they have?

>> No.13553313

There's too much variation in women's fashion. They have no staples or real tradition to draw from, so they have no serious basis to experiment from. Notice how nowadays women usually wear men's clothing, like in OP's picture: t-shirts, pants, shirts, blazers etc. And what do they do with them? Just a random combination or colours, patterns, and shapes with no real purpose or aim.

Have you ever heard of a woman who wore the same item for years and years, and as time went on she treasured it more and more and it aged better and better? Women mostly just like to wear new things that catch their attention, and they buy loads of new things. They don't buy anything with the intention of wearing it for years, maybe even the rest of their lives. So the clothes they wear are cheap and pretty tacky, and as soon as they get bored of develop their own style, they either do the above and constantly change how they look or just follow whatever is trendy at the time.

Most women dress like shit. They don't learn about style or materials, or how things work together or anything. It's like they just walk around doing a parody of men by wearing disgustingly glaring men's clothes shaped for women.

>> No.13553332

>>13553288
I’m taking about the individual peices of clothing regardless of whether somebody is wearing them

>> No.13553336

I don't think women's fashion is bad as it is hard. Because like how the other posters mentioned before there is so much variety, way more textures and patterns, men's fashions (traditional / current) seems stale in comparison. It's easy to fall under very norm standards in women's fashion but with a little effort I'm sure most women will look better than us dressed than we can. They just have too many tools under their belts.

>> No.13553410

>>13553336
That makes sense. I think one of the reasons that men’s fashion looks better to me is because we still are able to push the barrier a bit where women already have so nothing stands out as interesting

>> No.13553443

>>13553410
There is no barrier for women's fashion. They have no standards for quality in any context, it's purely arbitrary what they decide is good at any one moment and what isn't. The material, the choices of colour and tone, the fit, and so on, are completely random for them. Most women prefer to either wear extremely plain colours (usually black or white - so edgy) or choose incredibly bold colours that stand out way too much (again - so edgy). They don't put thought into anything they wear, they never get better at choosing what to wear, it's just all random shit plopped together.

You know, I'm generalising because some girls actually do dress really well. My sister does, and you can tell because the materials and colours all work, and so she's worn the same stuff for years, just occasionally adding or removing bits, like you should do, not changing your entire wardrobe every year. But at least when men aren't good or don't give a shit they can fall back on classics, or you know, basic clothes that were actually designed for them. Women complain that shopping is so hard for them, but they're the fucking consumers, they create the demand because they only ever choose based on an instant of 'ooh this is new and not bad i'll buy it' and then they wear it for a short while and then get rid of it. This is stupid but is a defining feature of women's fashion.

>> No.13553580

imo men's and women's fashions have pros and cons that stem from their economic/societal role. I don't have a lot to comment on men's fashion.

I think a large part is that women in general are encouraged to be into fashion at a normie level. Wear makeup, follow trends, do your hair - all to look nice & attractive. It's expected and to an extent, it's easy. There are guides all over of things you should buy based on body type, new things you need this season, how to achieve __ style, and so on. It's not necessarily easy to actually look nice but you don't have to go hunting for something catered to you. There is a greater market for women's fashion because it's pushed as a necessity.

I think what happens because of this is that less % of women that are 'into fashion' are actually seriously involved in it. There may be more by volume but since the entry level is so low, more people are diluting the consumer choices and steering it into F21, etc. There are more choices, but quality - encompassing well produced clothing to conscious consumption and somewhat artistic outfit building - is again, diluted.

I think this creates issues like people have brought up, and I have felt this as well. The mfa and ffa subreddits kind of show this too - I think the female fashion has more interesting ideas but can lack foundations, while male fashion has a better foundation but can be boring as fuck. Obviously this is an extreme generalization, but I browse both and here, and the women's subreddit will have way more interesting inspiration album ideas (https://inspo.cc/ for a list) but will have stupid, low quality shit and badly fleshed out ideas mixed in. So I think to be successful, you should be creative but also reel yourself in and quality/taste check things.

It goes without saying that women can wear any article of clothing without issue which can limit men's fashion.

that would be called the little black dress, anon. the problem is that women will shop for whatever is on trend rather than building the staples. so they're retardedly buy a little black dress but with some embellishment/cut that makes it "unusable" after a year or two.

look at my pic. left is a classic cut that is appropriate for a work event, going out to a nice dinner, the opera, a wedding, or a cocktail dress code event. it may not be 'perfect" but it's appropriate and no one would second guess it. on the right is a dress that could be used for most of those as well, but it has ruffle sleeves that are very clearly a 2017/2018 trend and will be outdated in another year.

the shopping for trends rather than staples also makes them buy cheap clothing, spending more money overall, and looking like shit because they're buying cheap clothing.

Because most women dont care about things in general they lack the mental drive to be actually interested in a certain topic. Fashion is no different all that matters is that they spend copious amounts of money in fast fashion stores or designer stores that have some importance to everyday people (CK, MK, Armani etc)
On the other side they also want to stand out if they play the fashion game. This is where you get women wearing things that dont match, colors that dont match all for the sake of "fashion"
Look at some of the React videos with kids you will notice that even at an early age women tend to judge subjectively whereas men try to be objective.

The defining goal of masculinity is absolute transcendental skill. Anyone who thinks men should be beautiful is a homosexual. A man's clothing is a representation of his social class and his skill in rendering his appearance aesthetically pleasing.

>that sounds like a personal problem
It is actually a prominent theme in feminist theory. I accidentally signed up for a unit on feminism once so I know this stuff, and have the unique (and better) perspective of actually being a man who has experienced this stuff. No, it's the psychological reality for any male who must inevitably commit self-harm by engaging in any kind of romantic affair or fantasy with women. The only men who don't experience this are homosexuals, who are aberrant men, men who fundamentally lack manhood. It is then the case that when women erroneously (as usual) try to surgically remove this lack/misogyny in men, the result is an unprecedented wave of homosexuality and psychologically castrated men.

No. The attraction is the other side of the coin of hating them. They're inseparable. I can't be attracted to them without them possessing a feminine substance that I could never possibly grasp. I can hate them for it without ever even making a move or getting to know them or whatever. Misogyny is not hatred of a person, or any number of people. Misogyny is the substitution of a lack in an idea with a symbol, in this case any woman.

>Do you not have good relationships with any girls?
I've had a long-term girlfriend who I'm still on good terms with, but I never had any real romantic feelings for her. Love, sure, but no romance.

>Maybe you just aren't finding people you can connect with.
No doubt, but it doesn't change the theory, which is correct.

>Do you have something I can read that expands on your thoughts further?
Hegel -> Lacan -> Zizek... to understand the psychoanalytical concepts. How it relates to misogyny, I don't know who you would read. As far as I'm concerned no feminist theorist has ever had the mental capacity to actually understand what they're talk about, let alone explain clearly.

But don't concern yourself with this. It's such an unlikable quality in women to claim or pretend to want to understand, when it's clear they are just trying to socialize. Be better than that. Women can have intellectual quality on their own terms, not this pathetic attempt to integrate into the male intellectual realm, as most women theorists do. Be more like Virginia Woolf. You are more likable as women when you are equally hateable.

What bad behavior? I don’t behave particularly badly. In fact, underneath my excellent Visvim collection I am probably quite dull in real life, all the more so in the presence of a girl that I actually desire.

It's not so much that women's fashion is bad, it's more or less a fast paced fashion industry and the pressure from a social/visual society that demands women to fit the trend or be judged by other women. As for timeless pieces, there are quite a few, the pencil skirt is one, as is the circle skirt for more relaxed dressy occasions. Mom jeans are back in style and for women who are willing to spend the extra buck you can buy a pair that will last for years to come. I think the problem with the thread is that who you are having this discussion about is primarily younger women, who's tastes are changing with each clothing stores newest collection. When the clothes are so poorly made and the industry keeps changing, why wouldn't you replace your wardrobe nearly every season? Yes women as consumers have made it hard for us to buy quality "timeless" pieces. But when you say timeless I sure hope you don't mean the good ol' suit, white New balance sneaks, polo shirts, cargos, or beat up jeans because truth be told men's fashion is just as ever changing. As women we do have good fashion, bolder colors, more variations. Part of the timelessness is the way things are cute and as for whether we "value" a fit if you read even one tag on a pair of jeans you'd know that's a major concern of ours too. Hell we've even named body types and designated certain types of clothes for those body types. Really it's just the way the market is and the fact that your not looking full on adult women but rather celebrities who are payed to match the current fashion and young women. Ask your mom if she has a piece in her closet that's old bet you she has something over 5yrs.

Hatred is emotion, not behavior. There’s nothing to be justified, emotions simply happen, where as behavior is something done.

If you buy nice clothes you buy them with the intention of keeping them your whole life. sometimes I ask women where they got their top or etc and they tell me they bought it 20 years ago.
I don't know where you live but where I am women are way more stylish than men. I see so many couples where the men has no style and the women is very fashonable.

>turn this into a women hate thread
that hasn't happened though
just some overly sensitive losers that equate criticsm with hate
since some people can't take criticsm
women in general don't criticise other women as directly as men would with each other, they dance around the fact
and so when men perchance criticise women the latter thus percieve it as hostility and hatred, because that's not how they do things
this is why we should have separate boards
if they can't handle it without using that old chestnut
>w-well then you must hate women!!!
whenever someone here says they don't like "thing", then they should return to that bastion of femininity in this cesspit if a site
