Losing hair at 20, is there really nothing I can do? I asked my dad who's a physician. He just said that nothing works. Is For Hims and all that just bullshit? This sucks, didn't really want to go Joe Rogan bald Gorilla mode but guess I have to now.

Hey man, I also started balding in my 20s, if you're like that pic then thats not super noticeable to most people, the other guys right 99% of people wont see that shit.

I take finasteride and I only wish I had started sooner. It won't make your hair look like it did when you were 15 but itll stop it from receding further. Take it at night so you sleep through the weird feeling if you even get it (I dont feel different at all on it).

Also look into minoxidil (rogaine). I order a 6 month supply from amazon for like 20 bucks. You will need to commit to it tho, every morning and night. It definitely works for me I have a lot of hairs growing in my hairline that I had lost that are about 3/4 of an inch long now. Again its not super full teenager level hairline but I'll take what I can get.

The sooner you start the better your results will be as you need to head this off as quick as possible. You will have to commit to using these products forever though, when you stop it'll reverse what you gained so stay with it. It'll take a long ass time to get anywhere with it, 4-6+ months to see any real results so just keep at it. Good luck!

You can just make an appointment with your physician and ask for it. Ive had it from two separate doctors and they usually give it to you pretty easily.

If you have dont have insurance you can get coupons for it from apps like goodrx, I pay about 14~ dollars a month for it.

Some people also save money by asking for Proscar which is a 5mg version, they then cut it in 4ths. I just get propecia

it really is different from person to person.
Some people experience these effects and some don't. I've seen and talked to people who were on it for years and were very happy. Some people have taken it and had depression and other issues.

Unfortunately, like any drug you wont know how itll effect you and until you take it.. But I feel like it's worth trying as it's one of like 3 things actually proven to do anything for hair loss. If it doesn't work there's a few other options but for me, I haven't experienced any negative effects and I hope I continue to be in the group that has little to no negatives.

I'm entering my late 20s and my hair is lightly thinning on top, light enough to still be in denial over it and not form a discernable pattern, but objectively its kind of clear. Probably gonna start taking minoxidil because I didn't realise it was so cheap or that you didn't need a prescription. If I'm gonna be a failure at everything else in life at least I'm going to have hair. If it stays just how it is right now that will be really good.

It's to do with increased levels of DHT in the later part of male adolescence, which shrinks and reduces blood flow to some hair follicles. DHT, compared to testosterone, is a much more potent agonist of androgen receptors.

Try Fin if you are serious but start soon. You also have to consider the time before it even starts working.

Minox will not have any lasting success. Soon your restored hairline will mostly vanish again, unfortunately. All Minox does it go against the cause of hair loss without stopping the cause. But soon it will cease to be enough because the hair's weakness to DHT will always win over Minox.

If you want to avoid hair loss and post finasteride symptoms consider taking cyproterone and estradiol.

Nope. Norwood 3 Vertex since norwood 3 describes deep temple balding and Norwood 3 Vertex medium deep temple balding + recession on the head. You can even pull shit up if you're NW3 but +Vertex will make it hard/impossible.

Either use Minox, get a buzz (+cap) or a hairtransplant. Anything else is eithet too risky, doesn't work or is cringe.

Also note that there is a difference between receding hairline and thinning hair. May happen at the same time, may not. Most men's hairline will recede to some degree by their 20s or 30s. Thinning hair can be mitigated through medicine. This is all caused by too much testosterone in the scalp - can come with age, stress, drug use (including tobacco), genetics, a lot of factors. Sometimes habits need to be fixed as well. I quit smoking and my skin and hair have quit deteriorating as rapidly as a result - wrinkles and such have actually improved.
When my hair first started thinning id notice shit tons coming out in the shower. Since I've started Rogaine and nioxin it varies from none at all to a few hairs, seems connected to my stress levels. Hair is noticeably thin to myself but most people say they can't tell. I also don't grow my hair out long or try to have bangs anymore either. Just keep at it.

>This is all caused by too much testosterone in the scalp - can come with age, stress, drug use (including tobacco), genetics, a lot of factors. Sometimes habits need to be fixed as well.
Male pattern baldness is caused by sensitivity to the effects of DHT. You can buy expensive snake-oil in a desperate attempt to avoid it, but eventually, your choices will be embracing the hand you were dealt, or fucking up your hormonal balance - and possibly rendering yourself infertile - with finasteride.
