For a relatively avant garde perfume, it's actually easygoing and quite pleasant. I'm wearing it on a humid, 90 degree day. Very refreshing stuff.

You should quit if it's making you anxious, anon. My approach to fragrances currently is to build a solid year-round rotation, with something between 6-8 frags, so I'm getting some decants to fill the situations I have left on my collection which currently is basically summer casual. Also if other anons want to recommend me some summer casual scents, I like L'Homme but I wanted something a little stronger for using when doing sports or something like that. I tried Le Male Popeye and didn't like its sweetness, for summer at least.

It's a slow collection build.

You might consider what I do now: buy small splits of things on eBay. You can get 10 ml of most things for like ten bucks. If you go through the sample really fast because you like it, then upgrade to the big bottle. If you didn't really care, then you can spend your money on something else. I've found it really has helped me to slow down my ever growing addiction to collecting.

Solid colognes suck. Only cheap or meme houses produce them, and they invariably smell / perform worse than a comparable Eau de Toilette. The only decent solid cologne I can remember was Gap Grass as it was a very simple fragrance which intentionally wore light, but that stuff hasn't been produced for 20 years now.

Hundreds of blind bought bottles and the only ones I've truly hated were Prada Infusion de Vetiver and CDNIM. Some have been initial dislikes which I've since warmed up to, but most have been instant happy purchases. As long as you know what you like and research your picks thoroughly, most blind buys are going to be successes. I've actually made more regret purchases at retail based on in store testing than in years of online click-and-hope shopping. I'm looking at you, Givenchy Gentlemen Only.

If you initially aren't big on a new bottle, hold on to it and revisit it in six months. You might perceive the scent differently in different weather, the bottle may mature, or your tastes might broaden in that time to where you can appreciate it better.

Avqa is kinda dirty as a freshie (probably from the seaweed), but in a good way. I don't know if I'd wear it on a sunny day, but maybe a cooler overcast/rainy summer day. I much prefer Aqva Pour Homme Marine for hot summer days.

Dior homme cologne is pretty weak performing, but it smells like a cool class of lemonade. which is nice. A bit too sour on my skin (grapefruit)

Eau Fraiche is just a great all around summertime fragrance.

was also thinking about picking up mugler cologne, seeing as I don't really have any good soapy/shower frags for the summer (other than coolwater but it's a bit dated)

Better longevity by a mile. It's really woody, and has a strong violet note that persists all the way through, and smells exactly like the name suggests. Wonderwood is a great scent too, combines wood with a musky pepper, but the longevity is just too poor for me to justify the high cost when RMW is only like 30 bucks and lasts into the next day.

Some people get 6-8 hours out of WW though, so your mileage may vary.

I'd guess perfumers work endlessly trying to maintain the proper scent of a perfume when they are hit in the face by new restrictions, sometimes with better success, sometimtes the performance may take a hit. Mugler Cologne completely redefined my understanding of fragrances. I only wore spicy and heavy fragrances but MG showed me that freshies are that much more important.
