>tfw bought pic related for $285 months ago as autistic friend convinced me they were /fa/
>haven't worn them because they look bad with everything
>look kind of decent when I roll up my pants but then my legs look super short and they eventually come down anyway
>probably not built for /out/ stuff
Should I literally just throw away $285?

Your first mistake was buying something you didn't like. The second mistake was paying retail. The final mistake is asking us to change your mind about them

Just give them to a thrift store.

1. Don't be so hard on yourself anon. Life will go on, it's just money, and they aren't that expensive any way, the point is you learned something.

2. If they truly bother that much, it is best to give them to charity. Someone less fortunate than you might find them and be so happy.

3. They can become your "throwaway" boots, so basically beat the crap out of them, wear them to wash your car, wear them in the mud, wear them like you would a $20 pair from Walmart. At least you will be more effay than you would be.

3. I suspect they don't go with much, because of the colour. You can go to higher end Shoe Repair Store, and they should be able to dye them black for you. It really works, I've done it. They can dye both the leather upper and that tan light colour on the soles. Black is the most versatile shade.

4. As far as the rolling up, buy jeans that are 30 instead of 32 length or whatever, and then they won't have to be rolled up any more.

That kind of boot always looks bad until it's heavily broken in. Start beating them up and use black polish to darken the leather, especially those corny welts.

What size? Send them to me, the Beckmans are my next shoe when i don't feel like wearing my Iron Rangers.

Dye them black and change the soles.

When I bought some docs last year I felt like an absolute faggot when I first wore them. Beat them up and fuck with the shoe until it looks scuffed and creased. They look awful when they're new quality.

Not the same boot but similar to how they might look broken in (and worn out).

>> No.13512227

Stop caring about them so much. Wear them out, oil them heavily, take them hiking, put longer laces in and lace them around the ankle.

I have some chippewa apaches and they look about 10x better once I beat on them. Although, I haven't worn them in a while because steelcaps aren't great for travel. They are quite heavy compares to knit sneaks too.

If you are worried about short legs, I'd recommend pants with a high waist, then tuck your shirt. That way you can pinroll your pants (they won't fall easy that way) and elongate your legs.

All workwear need to get punished before its start to look good. Like jeans and leather jackets, boots also need some patina to look good. Wear the fuck out of them.

You can make them work. Just make sure the rest of the outfit isn't pushing you into MFA classy m'lady shit.

>> No.13512455

It's workwear mate. Expect them to match well with very little but other workwear sort of stuff. Unless you want that style you've probably goofed pretty bad. If you want nice boots that go well with nice outfits then you're gonna have to spend a little bit more.

>> No.13512529

1. Insert white laces, but off-white laces, like the color of the carpet. Big effect!
2. Bull polish the tips
3. Only use dark brown shoe polish, and sparingly, to create a patina and vintage look
3.

>shoes from the other pair are bigger so the laces are still droopy at the top of the holes
