I've always had good hair but last year I decided to grow it long. It's been about 9 months since I started growing it and it's pretty nice. The thing is I have no idea how to take good care of it.
My hair gets very greasy if I don't wash it after I wake up, so I shampoo it every morning before leaving my house. It takes a lot of time for it to dry and it kinda bugs me out a bit.
My hair-caring-routine is basically waking up, shampooing it in the shower, drying it with a regular bath towel and brushing it with a comb. Some girls at work told me to sleep with tied up hair (and some told me not to), one in specific told me to look stuff up about hair conditioners since I don't use one.

Finally: please teach me what I need to do to keep my hair healty like I'm a 2 year old that is completely unaware of hair care.

I have hair similar to yours.
I take a shower every morning.
Shampoo+conditioner every 3 days
Water+conditioner every day

Pretty much what the other anon wrote, especially when you workout. Also, you can go to a beauty salon and get some of the best shampoos and conditioners that you won't get anywhere else.
If your problem is persistent, try going to a dermatologist. That helped me since I had greasy hair. I've been rocking long hair for five years, but it's time to cut it now.
