What should I look for in boots? I like em similar to these, but I'm not ready to pay >$500. Where should I start?

Military Surplus is a good way to get quality boots for cheap. I got these Bundeswehr Modell 2007 boots for 20€. They had no visible wear and are insanely comfortable and durable.

Stop this meme. I fell for it and regret it.

Solovairs are in now way of 'higher quality' than made in Asia docs. It's the same cheap leather, only with less plastic coating. Everything else is 100% the same, except Solovair has fucking horrendous quality control. They simply forgot to weld the mid-sole ends together on my pair (pic related). There's a guy on reddit whose sole completely split after 2 weeks of wear + there's many stories like that. Docs are better.
