Starting off with our lord and saviour the goose.

I've been actually thinking of copping a pair like this myself. Are plastic frames still cool? Been gradually moving towards rounder styles since I have a rectangular face, but kind of like my backup pair of glasses which are wire frames. The one thing I like about plastic frames though is that they are much sturdier than their wireframe counterparts, and I don't need to keep adjusting them because my head is huge.

tl;dr are plastic frames still cool or are they too basedboy?

I fucking hate plastic frames, I can't wear them for more than a minute without my nose ears and head starting to hurt.
That out of the way I think there are some plastic ones that still look good, particularly the rounder thinner ones. But I strongly prefer metal wireframes.

I've been thinking of mixing it up with contacts, personally.

Can anybody talk about how much they spend on contacts versus glasses? I wore them in high school but found my vision wasn't as good with them as glasses

Depends on your eyes. I spend around 250 CAD on contacts but I have astigmatism and need special lenses for that

i also have astigmatism
i'm using the monthly purevision 2 which i have for £12/month here in the uk
i'm thinking about having lens implants since i'm wearing lenses for over 10 years now and i feel they became less comfortable
i don't want those cheap laser surgeries, lens implants are safer with better results

I spend 200CAD on a 3 month supply of dailies. So in theory, 800 a year or 66/mo. Insurance covers like one month, kinda sucks.
But they are the best dailies by far (Acuvue Oasys) and therefore the closest thing to wearing nothing at all on my face which is all I've ever wanted. I'm 23 now so I can probably get lasik soon.

you can't get any eye surgery done if your prescrption is not stable for at least the last few years
also with lens implants if ever the prescription changes that's easy to update or remove the implants
with lasik i don't think you can do anything
that's one of the thing that makes me prefer the implants over lasik, also the less halo effect, the smaller cut etc..

Nearly 700 euros for 6 1-month-use pairs. That the new prescription comes and the circle repeats.
Glasses were 650 every 6 months. I stopped updating the lenses on them a while back.

I just got a new pair of glasses, but there's noticeable distortion. I went back and had them redone, but the distortion is still there. Now I've noticed that when I take them off, the distortion is still there, which tells me that it's always been there (probably due to my astigmatism) but wasn't noticeable with my old frames (I went from smaller rectangle frames to larger square frames). Should I bring them back and have them redo them again or is this just something that can't be fixed?

I like these frames a lot, I've been wearing them for a few years now. They're only like $15. However, the lenses themselves are pretty out of shape and scratched, and the right arm on the frame is bent.
