I feel you are spot on with this.
As a kid, my mum and rest of the family would buy my very hit or miss clothes. So I guess the older generations I find don't know a thing. Can't confirm or deny this for women my age, but I suspect they are worse due to social media and onions fashion.

Can confirm. Work as a tie and shirt maker, gradually transitioning to full-blown tailor. Women know jack-shit when it comes to men's clothes (and many also clothing in general), even women who work in fashion, save for a few rarities, but every single one of them believes they are instant experts just because they were born women.

Actually, my ex has impeccable taste in men's clothing. Got me out of t-shirts and jorts and into suits, sport coats, and slacks. She wanted me to look good as I can be, because she liked me. The sex was outrageous (even though she was bi-polar af). You clowns need to learn that you dress for the girl you want. If she wants to see you in certain clothes, there's a reason for that. If she gifts you a fragrance or clothing item, it means she likes it and wants to see it on you. Attracting the girl is the 1st step to getting the girl.
