have rich parents, most models esp female come from wealthy backgrounds there. the hadid's come from a very wealthy family etc.. it makes sense as rich people are more likely to rub elbows with designers , and be connected into fashion houses, the more money you spend from my experience the more inclusion you receive into the houses short of knowing someone who works there.

Unlikely, but not impossible. There are different kinds of models (fit models, campaign models, event models), not everyone goes to the catwalk. But that's the best way to land a the other jobs, and being short you'll be severely disadvantaged. I have walked for some small time fashion shows (6ft 3in, I'm a bit too tall actually) and some campaigns, but it's too much of an ego trip, so I got out. A friend of mine is currently signed to a somewhat big agency here, and one of their best models is a shorter guy, cause he's got a great face and body, but more importantly, he's extremely professional and poses like no one else.

Never saw the guy to be honest, but my friend was explaining that he's got an amazing talent for posing. The way my friend told me was that if the photographer tells him to put his arm on his chest "like this" he instantly knows the best way to do it in relation to the camera and how to adjust the rest of his body accordingly.
People have this wrongful impression that the business is only about beauty and height, but how easy you are to work with, how professional and efficient you are, makes so much difference.

i was talking about open casting/model searches for agencies. Most runway castings aren't open to the public. You need to be signed under an agency or you won't get booked. This is when they have days at the modeling agency where there is an open walk in and people can show up and the people at the agency can look at you go through little modeling tasks to see if you have potential. Then if they like you they sign you. Then once you have an agency the agency finds clients for you and they send you to castings etc. You are never just offered jobs directly. 99% of fashion houses get their models through modeling agencies. Only Hedi when he was at SLP would hand pick models he would find. Thats just because they were just really skinny and tall. He would also fuck half of them since they were usually gay twink lovers of his. Half of the models that walked SLP weren't signed to an agency mainly because theyre too ugly to get paid work. literally SLP is the only runway they have walked and will ever walk. Therefore they would be a waste of the agencies time and they wouldn't be able to make money off of the model.
