Couple days, and that was maybe 5 years ago. /fa/ did get me to start paying attention to fit and material, which should be anyone's first step. I don't think I've ever taken advice on my everyday clothing from this board. I did however make some upgrades to my formal clothing based on advice I found here. Mostly here to shitpost now.

To be honest, after 2 weeks or so of casual browsing, without ever looking into a WAYWT thread. (would have realized much sooner if I did)

I'm mid 30s though, so it's easy for me to smell out the easily influenced minds of teens and manchildren. I think deep down 90% of /fa/ are just your average Hollister/Supreme/BAPE kids mixed with the usual 4chan sprinkle of edginess and contrarianism.

>> No.13424361

i think people on /fa/ generally can recognize good fashion and good aesthetic choices/designs but putting that into practice with your daily outfits is a bit harder to achieve. i think that's why this board ends up with decent inspo threads and that sorta thing but sometimes cringe waywt threads.

In 2010 if you had HY you were probably some underground kid in London or Berlin, way too cool to ever visit /fa/

it was not only mentioned before 2012 but it was a meme.you may find that hard to believe but thats probably just because you werent around then, and/or you only became fashion-literate in 2013. every haircut thread that came up the immediate reply was either hitler youth or buzz.

/fa/-tan was created the same year the board was launched and is an embodiment of the look /fa/ found fashionable at the time, if the archive went that far back i'd be able to repost comics made back then too depicting the HY, pea coat, nudie jeans and clarks that was the going meme outfit of the time. pic related is /fa/-tan, the audio quoted is from the nudie website around that time. funny to imagine anyone you think they would be 'too cool' to visit /fa/. its the opposite in my mind, these were internet fashion nerds too uncool to set foot in euro underground

i think you are getting me confused? i am not saying /fa/ posters then were cool or models, i am saying the opposite. that they were nerds. HY was not a cool haircut back then, it was a trend and people recognized it as such. i agree that nobody wore rick (that much) but he and raf were definitely memed at the time. i specifically remember somebody made a rickroll thread out of RO dunks, comparable to the original duckroll threads from /b/.

i posted two pics of proof from 2008 and 2010 as proof, you just going to ignore those? i can dig up more examples from /lit/ at least.

here are three posts from 2010:
>>/lit/thread/S1232837#p1232911
>Get a hitler youth, squats and oats, read atlas shirked, listen to NMH, etc
HY was parroted so much on /fa/ in haircut advice a tripfag on /lit/ knew it as board culture similar to ITAOTS

>>/lit/thread/S1406766#p1406808
>Never ask for haircut advice on /fa/. We will rip you a new one or tell you to get a hitler youth.

>>/lit/thread/S1473678#p1473699
>I asked /fa/ and they didn't respond. It's mostly 'GET HITLER YOUTH HAIRCUT' nowadays

There's an exhibition near me about Viktor & Rolf and I asked a friend of mine to join me. Previously we went to an exhibition about masks curated by Walter van Beirendonck. Afterwards we eat some food and talk about it afterwards. I take sewing classes, but the people I meet are women,(if you want to be derogatory you could compare them with 'housewives' on blogspot), who treat it as a hobby. Nothing professional, but it's a nice moment during the week to cool off. There's an art academy in my city that hosts a fashion show next week.

Go to musea with friends or people you want to know better. Check the cultural agenda of you cities.

I think he refered to what was mainstream at what time, so yeah you proved that they did exist back in 2010 , but the mainstream thing then was menswear and goofninja folks were a minority as opposed to 2013 and later when everyone on /fa/ was into rick and streetwear
