So I've been wearing Cool Water for the past week and a half, and I have some observations:

>Everything copied this shit. Curve, Polo Sport, Fierce, Diesel Fuel For Life and now all of the modern wave of ambrox bombs starting with Bleu de Chanel, Invictus, Sauvage. All of them copied Cool Water.
>Fun fact, the latest reformulation of Cool Water has modern levels of ambroxan so if you want an ambrox fragrance that's cheap and nobody else is wearing, C O O L W A T E R
>modern perfumery techniques and synthetics are weird. I got the bottle and sprayed it in my car at first, strong as fuck. Spray on my skin, disappears within an hour. Two weeks later, it lasts 12+ hours with one spray.

Cool Water is truly based. Also, it smells better than Tres Nuit by a fucking mile, and IMO is less stuffy and old smelling than GIT.

I've been testing out colognes for a few months, and I think I have an idea of what I want. An equal combination of;

Citrus; Lemon, Lime, Bergamot, etc
Spicy; Sage, Lavendar
Sweet; Amber, Vanilla, etc

If this rings any bells, I'd love some suggestions. Thanks!

So tried Verbena Fields. Haven't had a chance to try Emerald Islands, but here are my thoughts on it.

It's different than (what I remember about) Green Irish Tweed. A lot heavier on the Verbena. While GIT has a ever so faint citrus to the greenness, the Verbena is almost powdery to my nose. Because of how heavy it is on this one, I think it is a much more barbershoppy take on Green Irish Tweed. I really like it. One it dries down to only the basenotes, it's a lot more of what I think of when I think "Green Irish Tweed." (I'll wear a sample of GIT i have laying around to compare it when I get a chance to check out Emerald Isles)

However, performance just isnt' there for a clone imo. It isn't like Aventus where all the clones are shit, there are pretty good GIT clones floating around. I would say it's still modest. I could still get soft projection after 5-6 hours. Contrast this with GIT though, or my clone of choice Rasasi Egra (Which is half the price for 100 ml), I just don't know if this is one I'd spring for. I'd argue that the scent is better blended than Egra, and the ingredients smell better, but GIT isn't exactly a complex scent in the first place. So, if Emerald Isles is more traditional GIT, I'd say Verbena would be the only one worth owning since it goes heavy on it, if that's your thing.

Yes pirspirationis good but your armpits aren't the only place you sweat from. Decreasing the amount they sweat will have a negligible effect on your body's total perspiration output. Sweat is what feeds the bacteria producing smelly compounds, so reducing their food supply will therefore reduce the smell. Also, antiperspirant only decreases sweat output, it doesn't stop it completely.

If you want more goth than classy: Amouage Memoir Man or Encre Noire (sample both before buying them) if you want more class: Acqua di Gio Profumo, Prada Amber pour Homme, Interlude Man, La nuit de l'homme, Nasomatto Pardon. If you go Dior, try the regular Dior homme parfum. the intense version has a feminine waxy cosmetic vibe I don't really dig, but if that's your thing, go with it

Fucking love Jazz Club.
I bought some more in Sephora the other day and the guy at the counter complimented me on buying it and also suggested I actually combine Jazz Club and By the Fireplace.

I never mix scents but his idea was actually genius. It smells great.

Dior Homme was the first fragrance I fell in love with, smells amazing.. I heard it was jeremys first frag too as an adolecent, still own a frag, use it all the time, smells like wood and leather for the first 1 or 2 hours and then it turns into a completly diff thing, love it
