Why did the 90s feel so new, but now it's just...old

we're different though, right?

no. topknots, bombers, joggers, undercuts and the like will all go down as peak 2010s meme material. the generation that comes of age 30 years from now will look at pastels, desaturated colors, and the "facebook blue" color will all be looked upon like how we see the pea greens and carrot oranges of the 70s. music genres like dubstep and trap will die eventually. i think people will look back on the fashion-conscious mumble-rap/autotune singing rap moment the same as how we look at hair metal now ie "what were we thinking?"

Jeans and Ts it is for me, then. What else remains in style for decades and decades? Could someone wear something from your closet in 80 years and come across as 'with it'?

mod, punk, and prep styles from the 60s and 70s still look good to me. i think some designers and brands have an aesthetic less moored to time than others. for example, engineered garments will hold up in terms of style over time far longer than fear of god LA. it takes some time to train your eye and some experience will only come first hand, but over the years youll come to recognize better whats trendy at the moment and what designers are more focused on their own thing.

It’s almost as if.... as if time is linear or something?
