I received Coach for Men and Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo Casual Life from fragnet today. Anon who shilled Casual Life last month, why didn't you mention how silly the bottle is in person? The stylized Ferragamo name stamped into gigantic faux metal bezels, the asymmetrical curved front / flat back, the oversized start button sprayer, the goofy plastic safety clip; design concept notwithstanding, it's kind of embarrassing to have on the shelf.

My quick two-sprays-on-a-tissue hot take: Damn that's a lot of cashmeran. Let's hope it's less dominant on skin. Probably going to turn spot in hot weather. I'll find out soon enough.

How similar is pic related to the EDT? I've used up 150ml of the EDT and not planning on getting a new scent. I haven’t smelled Noir but I really, really dislike Noir Extreme. I don’t know if they’re similar scents or not.

Nowadays I feel that TF is for stuffy, upper middle class, middle aged men who have a strict dress code. Since I’m about to turn 24 I’ve moved to Le Labo. Similar in pricing but consistent quality (in my experience LL scents last longer than TF) and much more interesting, daring fragrances than TF would release. Tom Ford is just a little too refined for my taste. I still love scents like Italian Cypress, Oud Wood, and Tobacco Oud Intense but they all feel out of place (IMO) if you’re not wearing an expensive Italian suit. I know this reply is more about Tom Ford as a brand rather than your question, it just felt like a jumping off point.

Vetiver 46 by Le Labo. It’s interesting, complex, and sophisticated. I wore it almost every day through fall and winter last year and still pick up new notes every time I put it on. It’s a light vetiver with incense and cedar wood overtones with a hint of vanilla. I think it’s extraordinary but wouldn’t blind buy it. If you’re on a budget you could try CDG 2 Man, I’ve heard it’s very similar and done by the same designer but lacking the longevity.

Don’t ask her to hang out, stupid. If you’re interested in her, flat out ask her out on a date and be explicit about it. If you ask her to hang out, there’s a good chance she’ll think you’re just asking her to chill as a friend. Be clear you’re asking her out romantically. Establish context. You’ll also come off as more confident, which only helps you.

If she says no, she says no, but it’s better to find that out upfront rather than “hanging out” with her for weeks or months only to have her tell you she only likes you as a friend.

I guess more experienced noses can explain it better, but just after I spray it I smell a strong lemon note, after it dries down I smell what I expect to be what people compare to Aventus (have never smelled Aventus myself), which is how it will smell for the next 10 hours or so, getting less citrusy each hour. I cant decide between Tam Dao EDP or EDT.
I tried both and don't notice a ton of differences. They both seem to have a lot of cedar, but more sandalwood in the EDP tempers the dryness.

The EdT seems to be performing better honestly, but think I may have just sprayed more.

I used up my EDP sample so quickly, I dont feel like I had enough time to fully grasp it, but my gut tells me that it is the superior fragrance.

I notice an overlap between all of PVs frags, even the non pineapple vintage ones. I also detect a bit of an overlap with aventus, GIT, and SMW.

My guess is that there is an ingredient somewhere in the base they use for longevity or something and you can pick it up. Just my thought

Literally works on my skin the post.

Why is it so fucking hard for you to accept that reformulatuons happen and have killed good frags? No shit it happens all the time, guerlain has had a ton of them. But NEVER have I said that reformulation is the the death of a frag. Guerlain has had to have gone through tons of reformulations, but the differences are negligible as best.

Since you're so fucking attached to la pleb lhomme, consider one of my favorites: DG pour homme. Beautiful fragrance with citrus, tobacco, and pretty good performance. Modern made in UK bottles are "okay," but grab any made in Italy bottle and you'll notice a clear winner in performance. Shit lasts all day. Some people claim the orange comes out more, but I personally don't detect it. There are clear differences though.

It's one thing to cry reformulation on something that is only slightly different in note breakdown, and that's usually due to batch differences. Aventus is way guilty of this, but it's usually negligible. But it's another thing entirely to blatantly ignore an entire assload of people all over this hobby that agree something got fucked.

Kill yourself, Jeremy.

Sure man. Imagine someone being like *sniff sniff* 'is that a fucking winter scent in the middle of july?' Lmao very few people are that into fragrances anyway. Do whatever. 90% probably won't even know what you're wearing.

>> No.13341551

>>13341540
It’s not really a matter of people knowing it’s a winter scent, it’s more that some notes or combinations of notes can get very cloying when it’s hot out. Try wearing Spicebomb outside in 40 degree heat sometime.

prada l'homme doesn't smell that good at all it's like hotel soap. jeremy has been paid by prada for a year+ to shill it. that's why a few months ago he constantly started talking about the iris sourcing/quality in it where he never does that with other frags

Imo it's sort of like Burberry Brit but a lot more interesting and unique. The rose persists throughout, starts off with that and some bergamot + lime, but then as it dries down, the sandal wood and incense start to blend with the rose. It's really nice, Ive only worn it once and its easily going to be my next cop once I have some spare cash.

Best was probably Pure Havane. I dislike most Mugler scents but everything I read online made me want it. I recently finished that bottle and will need to stock up.

performance issues but by no means bad
go for it as part of a cheapie haul if you have the money laying around
swap when its half done which wont take long because you will have to reapply halfway through the day. but yeah its different at least

l'ideal homme guerlain edp would probably be better but havent tried it cant confirm

Sauvage is good imo, and I don't dislike the fragrance itself because of its popularity. What I dislike is the popularity not of Sauvage in particular but of the fresh spicy/ambroxan vibe in general. Its all I ever seem to smell on men and it's just not interesting anymore.

It just smells like Axe to me. Something very offsetting. Like a gas station fragrance, literally. Smells pretty good but it just starts to get really annoying to the point I had to wash it off which I never do. But then again I prefer somewhat sweeter frags. Take what you want from that. I like BdC though.

It comes in Eau de Toilette and Eau de Parfum versions. I only have the EdP but it's fantastic. Every bit as good as LIDGEE. You can read up on the exact reasons why Guerlain have been able to keep many of their fragrances intact, but the short version is proprietary oakmoss plus a good nose in Thierry Wasser.
