The key to really nailing my style for the last few months has been a deconstructing cream. At the moment I’m using Garnier Pixie Play, and I do often wonder how weird it is for me to be using a product that literally has pixie in the name as a guy. My hair is about that length. I’m a bit of an emo twink hopefully aging semi gracefully. I’m sure it’s a classic story. My look has severely “toned down” over the years but it’s quite youthful leaning and youth inspired still as well. I need hair longer than the average male to feel comfortable in my own skin. As for shampoo and conditioner I use whatever I can get my hands on which is often a lot of whatever quality drug store brands. Using Tresseme at the moment and that makes me feel kinda fancy and like I’m indulging myself a little bit.

Dandruff/antifungal shampoo like Nizoral or Selsun Blue. Could be seborrheic dermatitis. My eyebrows had bad dandruff and that solved it.

Hydrocortisone if shampoo doesn't help. If none of that helps, you'll need to see a dermatologist for prescription shit.

Make sure you don’t shampoo too often, use conditioner or just water instead. Try out sulfate free shampoos. Don’t use scalding hot water on your scalp, make sure you get everything out. Try medicated shampoos like selsun blue or t-gel. And try to get a scalp brush so you can scrape all the flakes off. Run across your scalp in circular motions. You can find them on amazon. My flakes cleared up after a day.

volumising shampoo/conditioner which is dubious at best in terms of working imo. best bet is to dry your hair upside down and kept your head upside down until it cools or doing a blow out. adding things like dry shampoo, texturising spray, or sea salt spray will help...which are not great for your hair either.

we have similar hair. what i do is I blowdry and use pic related. then I put leave in conditioner after. you can do lots of styles with blow drying. When I don't blow dry my hair gets dry even after applying oils/conditioners/wax. but when I do and apply product it appears/feels healthy and moisturized.
