accidental fit of the day - so a seller accidentally sent me a DPM shirt instead of DPM trousers.

Happily this probably means I will end up with both.
When trying on the jacket it sort of ended up as a between a milspo and Twave look because the rest of my outfit was generic nonmilitary. I also threw on a Balaclava (and stared into the camera quizzically like a dead-fish) to leverage the t-wave-ness.

Anyhow, this counts as my fitpost for the day.

I think the high point of those pants is that they go with many things because there's green, brown AND black.

I'd say give them a try paired with a simple non-graphic black crewneck tee or sweater, a plain black leather belt w/silver or black buckle and find a way to create interest just above your boots either by cuffing, tucking or blousing. Experiment with that last one because I'm not sure that will look best.

Are Puttees worth it?
I'm going hiking or something with my grandad in a few months and I'd like to know if they'd provide more benefits over socks?
Another question I have is if I can hide them under trousers or fashion them in some way so I don't look too autistic?

I mean..you'll still need to wear socks? It's like having a pair of gaitors, stop crap getting in your boot (Including water from rain light showers, dew etc) and keep your lower legs quite warm.
They're great if you're not planning to take your boots off, you have to remove the puttees and it's a royal pain. As far as hiding them they go over your trousers so no chance of that. they look pretty cool, why not just wear them and be okay with it.

I think the jacket might be a touch too larger at the waist, so if there's a way for you to cinch it or put darts in it it will improve the silhouette. Alternatively , you could taper the legs of the jumpsuit slightly and that would emphasize the largeness of the upper fit and play up the 2/3 rule.

You don't wear them INSTEAD of socks, you wear them over your boots, over your socks and over your trousers.

The benefit they provide is a fuckton of ankle and leg support and they help distribute any shock you receive over your entire leg instead of having it localized in the foot or ankle and it can prevent accidental hyperextension. Of course, this is limited but it's better than nothing and the support alone feels very good and solid.

You have to wear them outside the boots because they also keep the weather out. They will look effay if you wrap them neatly.

How do you stop a canteen like pic relevant from tasting like shit?

I've had about 4 canteens of similar era and materiels from different countries. Seems like no matter how many times I scrub 'em or boil em or boil the corks, the water always comes out tasting terrible.

Is it just me ? Am I missing something?

I really want these to work out because they're just so aesthetically superior to a klean canteen.

Use 1x Rit liquid black (above pic) and 1 or 1/2 Rit charcoal poly dye

This covers the cotton content and the polyester content both and will get your jacket pretty dark. Just using Rit black liquid will only dye the cotton, the poly will not take dye and it will wash out on the first rinse and you'll have wasted money and time.

It looks very classically militaristic (voluptuous torso, loose sleeves, hem sits well below waist) with the waist tape cinched and wearing a lofty liner. Can’t post a photo now, but that one pic with the janky boots that was circulated a while ago is mine. I’m not sure how well it works for milspo, because of how modern and minimalistically the jacket is patterned, and the fabric is fairly stiff so it doesn’t drape like pure cotton, linen or wool

I really like the half-dyed camouflage concept; pic related is a east german dyed jacket probably issued to prisoners or construction servicemen
