I was just thinking while scrolling though the last waywt and this new one. why do you dress like this, specifically aimed towards some of the shitty fits poorly put together and just don't look good? is it for yourself or to get girls?

One thing Ive learned while at college is girls want a guy that dresses normal/basic/safe

if you dress weird like this, her friends will ask why does he dress like that and she doesnt want her friends to say that so then she'll prob leave you for a guy that dresses normal. or she won't even date you to begin with just because you dress weird

unless you're good-looking/ at least an 8/10 then no one will give a shit, especially 10/10 all girls will just be like fuck me. Unless its towards the end of the night and your avg 5/10 drunk girl is feeling lonely and wants a guy for the night shell be all over you even if your fit is shit and you're avg/ugly looking.

trust me I'm a junior in college and started getting more girls once i started dressing "safer". I still wear nice interesting pieces but i've toned it down a bit when it comes to putting fits together. This is coming from an average looking guy. 6 ft, medium length messy skater/young leo hair, bit of acne scarring on right cheek.

Yeah now that I'm not on mobile I see that you're actually wearing the jacket slung around your shoulder there, I think that's why I like the silhouette better, I think knotted around the waist would also work.
I'm still thinking about this because I had the same issue with a fit I used to wear a few years ago, Nike Field Generals and old Maharishi snopants, a little lunarcore inspired. I could never find a satisfactory way to wear my jacket other than around my waist, but I loved the way that looked. I think what I'm looking for is to make something like an A line dress silhoette which is hard with male body proportions. Maybe it needs a baggy but thin parka or something.

ymmv but for me the key is/was to hold onto the more out there items if I thought they were interesting, even if I wasn't wearing them right now. I made the mistake of buying too much stuff online that I wasn't sure how to make work when I was younger and got rid of some of it, but now that I have a more basic everyday style I like to take out the old items and combine them with the more conservative ones. It feels pretty great to find a match for something that's been sitting in your closet for two years. I also get self conscious but having the rest of my fit be regular stuff that I know grounds it and makes me feel more secure.
Would still recommend trying on stuff in-store and buying less online before making the same mistakes I did, you can save a lot of money.
