Yeah, I use one.
Don't dry your hair all the way with it (80-90% is fine imho) and let it air dry after that. Some product is easier to work with if your hair is still slightly damp, too.
Get a good hairdryer, which keeps the temperature on a steady, relatively low level to avoid damaging your hair.
Damage from blowdrying is no myth, but like with most things it's caused by people using it wrong.

You can either fully dry or add just before dry and did the style and scrunch for this next product.
Use a clay. I like Apothecary 87 and Label M. For your hair type.
It's going to be your main style and holder.

Once you get the style you want use hairspray to lock it in. I still haven't found anything better than Redkin 28. Even the 32 isn't better as it does dry with some gloss.

My hair won't budge all day until I run my hands through it. Then it becomes soft and malleable. Shampoo alone completely cleans my hair come morning.
