I like the 80s and 90s nike shoes a lot, but I feel like they haven't released any good silhouettes since roughly 2000. Does anyone else feel this way?

I wish they would release a new air max or basketball shoe that's not generic looking. I would like to see a really fresh looking Air Max, maybe with full length, but non visible, max air.

SE = special edition, essential = generally a classic silhouette, like the og air max, 90, etc.

You'll end up with an approximation of a classic silhouette/colorway with updated, performance friendly materials. They're also generally cheaper/more widely available than proper retros.

Pic related falls under that category, and they're actually super comfortable, much more so than the more true-to-form "anniversary" air max that released that year... But, when you put it up against the real thing, it's super booty looking. And from a performance standpoint, it's not a genuine contender for a modern runner.

Basically, hold out for a proper retro unless you have something against wearing leather, or want some cheap beaters that don't look too horrible if you squint your eyes a little.
