What's frag's opinion on TV? I am a young adult and have heard most people associate it with older men, but man I love the smell (though I might have bias since I love vanilla in general). Also probably doesn't work well in the spring/summer.

>> No.13197513

This is Christmas night sex on a bear rug covering a stone floor in front of a roaring fire...in a mansion. Vanilla, sweet, smoky, tobacco, warm spicy, hint of fruits. Very intimate. If you wear this for a woman, you like her. Or you just want to have sex with her, either way - too sexy for the office and best suited for date nights. Perfect way to combat cold blistery weather by smelling so warm and sweet. Just smelling this will warm you up... and her. (jesus fucking incel)

>> No.13197526

sweet smoky vanilla tobacco. no it does not work well in spring/summer - cold weather only. it's not an "older man" scent, but probably best for 25+. i fucking love it, but be careful not to overapply - it is strong. i have sprayed this on my clothes and could still smell it on them the next day. i'll daily wear this in winter if i can spare the money

Is context a meme? When they say a frag is "too nice" for casual wear, only for formal occasions, etc. does that really mean it will smell strange otherwise? It's no meme, and I think it'd be great for the setting you describe or similar situations where you don't want to attract too much attention. But you gotta decide if that's something that you want to spend money on because it's not really something that you'll be able to smell and appreciate as you wear it. It's more of a functional frag that you wear for others more so than yourself, at least in my case. Like I appreciate the pencils-shavings-like cedary clean smell that I get when I put my nose right on the spot where I sprayed it, but I can't detect it very much once I've applied to my body, apart from the odd whiff throughout the day.

Performance is excellent, though maybe that's cause I tend to douse myself with it – I use about 10-15 sprays and people tell me they can smell it over an arm's length away from me after 9 hours, but it's never overpowering even with that much applied. Could probably use less and still do great.

Oh and mature women tend to appreciate it most, not that I think anybody will dislike it, but most of the compliments I've had with it have been from women who are 40+.

Tried what was presumably knockoffs at a square in a foreign country. Sprayed on some "D&G Light Blue" and "Aqva Amara". The former was nice and inoffensive, but very basic. Not something I would *love* wearing and smelling off myself, like TV. The latter, however, smelled nice, like mandarin. Opening was lovely. Then it dried down a little. At first, to nothing. Then again, the square smelled a little bad. But after a second spray on skin, I went to get some food while contemplating if I should buy either, mostly because they were so cheap. I thought the latter could be a good mid-summer scent, but very, very suddenly it started burning the back of my hand. The spot looked red. I hurried to a nearby restroom and scrubbed.

Moral of the story? Allergy test everything, especially what you suspect to be a fake.

Sauvage is the only good fragrance there. Eros smells like a high school kid and Aventus has been murdered by CDNIM.

Sauvage is actually quite a complicated fragrance with many different nuances that aren't immediately detectable (ethyl maltol, hivernal neo, calone 1951) aside from the ambroxan. It's ok though. To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Dior Sauvage. The scent is extremely avant-garde, and without a solid grasp of theoretical perfumery, most of the notes will go over a typical wearer's head.

On the other hand, Creed can't even nail the formula for Aventus to make a consistent fragrance across even two batches. What a failure.

13206365

So over the past few months I have blind bought four Charriol fragrances from Fragnet at around $25 each, with a fourth on the way. If you can find them in stock at this price, they are an absolute steal.

Charriol seem to have put together an entire line of high quality semi-clone fragrances. If they're not exactly clones, they're genre pieces that may as well serve as unofficial flankers of certain popular perfumes.

Royal Gold is firmly in the category of Tom Ford Black Orchid EdP, though not a direct clone. Perhaps an intense or absolute version. Very assertive projection with 10+ hour longevity.

I can't say whether Charriol Pour Homme EdP is exactly One Million as I've never smelled the original, but it is a dead ringer for One Million Absolutely Gold. Again with the superb performance and longevity.

Royal Leather is in the category of Tuscan Leather, but unlike Rasasi La Yuqawam, this one is more of a cousin and less of a fraternal twin. Swap the raspberry of TL for dried fruit, dial up the saffron, and give the leather more substance. This one is less nuclear than the other Charriols but still offers strong performance.

Total sleepers that you're unlikely to ever find to test in person, and strong arguments for certain kinds of blind buys.

No, they're both good. L'homme is good if you just want a light, easy to wear frag to school, work, etc, but don't want to smell like soap. Leans towards unisex, but it's not really "faggy." People who get close to you will think you smell good, but don't expect any compliments. I enjoy wearing it when I don't know what to use

>> No.13206660

>>13206448
that's not it at all. A better comparison would be a jacked guy wearing something like a cardigan that's not quite as masculine. And to be honest I think it kind of works as long as it's not too much.
I'm not saying wear a women's frag, but something lighter on a masculine looking guy can give a bit of counterbalance to his appearance.
