Oliver AT55's or AT45's depending on what you work with. Both look kind of goofy and are hard to style but they are still good durable boots that I use while completing my electrician apprenticeship.

Considering getting these, mostly because I lack an actual cold-weather boot of any sort. I like the little bit of exposed lining, but my big issue is that they're zippered.

I have enormous feet so boot selection is really, really narrow.

Then you will have 2 pair of Red Wings instead of a pair of Vibergs.
If you can't figure out which suits you best then maybe you don't need either. Also, you do realize they are apples and oranges right?

I don't know why noobs think they deserve to get top tier goods without any appreciation of what features and qualities make them top tier. These are the same "people" going around in poorly fitting chromexel boots that they've waxed and scuffed up with sandpaper.

I don't know if it is mostly because of the rivets, ventilation holes, side zipper that doesn't go far enough down, the fact it goes too high or that the soles are both too thin in the middle and too chunky at the front and the back HOWEVER I do not that these are a complete mess. It is all subtle but somehow every aspect of these boots is wrong. They are so bad that I think one of your toes could fall off.
Even where the stitching comes together parallel to those vent holes is too low. That is going to get fucked. The back and front of the last curl up a bit but all the flex on that single layer is in one small section in the middle. That will feel horrible. There aren't even pull tabs. I hate these so much.

Got these in in 13D, 13EE and 14D.

14D is too big - clown shoe like, but still kinda narrow.

Honestly, I can't tell the difference between 13D and 13EE. They're a little narrow but fit better. Reckon these will stretch out?

>What are those brown boots on the right? The look really nice
Viberg, it's the leather. That is a very nice batch of pull up leather. I believe that the blue in this pic is suede but they also do some reverso. Same leather on the right and left but one pair has toe caps.

I hope nobody is fooled by the RW spam in this thread. Their leather is in house and now they make their own crepe soles instead of Vibram. Check what Nick of Nick's Boots and what the guy from Rider have to say about boots in general and RW specifically. RW are a fine average boot but not a premium product. They are like Clarks. Which is alright.

Lots of people have Iron Rangers and Mocs. That is fine. On that level of boot Wolverine are a step up as far as the leather goes and how they're made. You know it is Horween tanned. You can feel that is infused and a true premium leather. It is not on the same level as what you see in that pick with the Viberg boots. It doesn't need to be though.

Chromexel is great leather. You can customize 1000 Miles and get them in Chromexel, even Gold Chromexel. You can even get them in that Horween veg tan style leather. Their Evans 1000 Miles are a solid step up from Red Wings.

The real proof is in trying them on yourself. Each boot maker has their own lasts and each of you has your own foot shape(s). For a really great pair of classic boots with premium components and construction 1000 Miles are hard to beat.

Just like Wolverine, Viberg still makes actual workboots. If you know that you want something very specific beyond the standard then you get into Alden, Viberg and all the rest. Like if you want the absolutely most dynamic pull up leather in a light weight classic service boot style you'd look to Viberg and the pic I posted before.

Even keeping in mind diminishing returns those 1000 Mile Evans boots are at the crest of getting the best you can invest in without falling off into splitting hairs and cork sniffing.

What is wrong with making your leather in house? If anything that cuts costs because you're not paying another party or shipping costs. Which means you can devote more money and resources to your product.
I get Horween is Horween, but brands like Truman's Boots get their leather from places in Italy too and it's very good quality. Who cares where it comes from as long as it's good quality.

And the thing with 1000 Mile Boots, they have known QC issues, their build quality is shoddy at best some days and they inexplicably still do a leather sole on many models.

Less is more, as they stated. Leathers like Chromexel don't need wax and will look dull with it. 2nd on Saphir but I actually like Saphir Mink because you can use it on most leather and then wax separately. Obenaufs or Sno Seal along the sole edge and sole stitching for added water proofing.

Also, keep that brush handy for a few quick wipes evry wear.
