idk maybe its just me, but one of my favorite things to see during fashion week is street style. most likely bc regular people can't afford runway looks on the daily. this is wearable fashion. even if you COULD afford whatever you wanted, you still wouldnt deck yourself out in full on runway fits (ofc there are exceptions to this).

I think these threads are just getting to be too much for me, especially from a place like Berlin. They're slowly going from inspirational threads showing me something to strive for to just being a reminder that I'll probably always be too poor to afford anything I really want and always be stuck in the anus of the midwest where the selection of clothes is limited to target and mall garbage except the mall garbage is even more limited than it would be in a real fucking city with actual value. In all my 23 years of living here, I've literally never once found a single item of clothing for men that would be worth trying to completely re-tailor to fit me. I've been to thrift stores a lot, too; I couldn't afford anything else for quite some time. I think people on this board forget that we are human and we like to have fun, and that we can be stupid.

Some people go out and want to dress in a way that is unconventional because it either forces other people to look at them and take in a different way of presenting yourself, others like to do it because collecting and displaying fashion is a passion, and then there are people that simply want to be a spectacle.


The beauty of fashion is it is an art that is seen by others on the everyday. Sure, these people during fashion week were photographed heavily on the promise they would be on some shit fashion blog, but it's the little moments of someone looking at them on the 2pm metro to wherever that sticks.

hmm...its def very affordale. If it has somewhat descent quality, the "essential" sect has some wearable shit. The more stylized items look p bad quality wise (so it would be almost impossible to pull off).
I guess it comes down to what your style is, bc in general they have the punk/grundge thing going on, so if thats what youre into and you can pull it off without looking rediculous, then it can work for you.

But overall I'd say its a total hit or miss. Like in pic rel, I kinda like the shirt for some reason, but the pants are def out of question (unless you are a rockstar), there are some less stylized garments that look much better.

This is all predicated on fashion being not fashion-- that is to say not a trend you wear and then throw away, moving on to the next in a disgusting consumerist ritual, but how people genuinely see themselves and choose to integrate into larger society via their style.

That we consume styles via fashion is itself an indictment on our society and it's values of consumerism and it's inherent lack of identity. People need an identity, and if larger society does not provide they will find one-- even if what they find alienates larger society, which is no good.

It is pretty easy if you are a student actually, get a cheap 2 or 4 year degree then apply to German universities. My ex girlfriend literally did that and she's an art major. I'm sure with some like an engineering or science degree it would be easy as cake

There is a few good fits here, but I enjoyed Milans style a lot more. Milan has a lot more simple color blocking, or they're just plain better at mixing contrasting patterns, plaids and tartans without overdoing it.
