so its a very slim backpack... that can be removed from your jacket but is a huge pain in the ass to take off? What a stupid design.

>>12992987
This would probably give you a headache pretty fast, unless you keep your backpack cinched up ULTRA tight on your shoulders. Using an angle light on the front of the strap would be far more practical(since the strap shifting up/down is just going to raise and lower the hotspot a few degrees. If its on the apex of your shoulder 1 few degrees up/down on it will translate to 30 or 40 degrees movement of the hotspot)

I've used a similar flashlight setup on a slingpack strap and it worked ok, but it was pretty high and tight on my shoulder like you said. Main drawback was that I'd have to lower my shoulder a bit if I wanted to shine it towards the floor but that's about it. Definitely beats holding it in my hand the entire time.

An angle light on the belt line or a head lamp is better in general.

Yeah. You're gonna need to define what you want some more though. You want long sleeves or short sleeves? You want a chest pocket or are you looking for some other kind of pocket?

Look for anything made out of Ventile. It's cotton which is spun so tightly that it's highly water resistant. Barring that you can get any kind of synthetic shirt and just spray DWR on it for water resistance. Nylon is good because certain types have a lot of water resistance as is.

Don't know why you would want to get a T-shirt that's waterproof. In my eyes it should be focus on just being breathable, ventilation, stretch, and or have insulation. A common material used in T-shirts is Merino Wool, check brands like Outlier, Icebreaker, and many more for such. You can also use Polyester, when in a cotton blend make good shirts.

Nah, it's possible. The knit structure is the outer material that the goretex is bonded to. It's probably 3L with some kind of mesh backing underneath the goretex as well. The outer might be treated with dwr. Goretex is probably c-knit so it can stretch a bit.
