This. I had to take a couple arch classes for my degree and had my classes and studio in the same building as the architecture school, so I know a lot of architects. Most of the ones I know who graduated are either doing something tangentially related to architecture or are CAD monkeys doing grunt work at some firm making super unremarkable stuff. That's just the way it is when you're starting out, but the way people here talk about architecture like it's some dreamy, artsy, instagram post of a career makes me cringe.

Hey guys after taking the year off after HS I'm going to apply to school for next year.

I'm beyond terrible w/ STEM-type stuff, but good with language, music, history, law, anything that needs reading and a beyond retard sense of comprehension.

I'm deliberately shoehorning myself into some retarded degree like History or Psychology or even Music (Tonmeister).

My question is honestly what liberal arts degree do I have the best chances of getting somewhere with my life, coupled with actually learning something along the way.

If I fuck up I'm going to enlist or take up a trade (or both) but before that happens I want to know what you guys think is the best (enjoyment + productivity) path to become an intellectual.

Easy to get published as an undergrad if you do good research and can write coherently, very little SJW bullshit survives historians' scrutiny in academia, the course matter is almost always interesting, mostly self-directed work.

History majors go into Law School all the time because of their research and analysis abilities. Not only that, many companies and governments look out for history majors for analyst positions right out of the gate.

People think it's bullshit but I have better career prospects than 99% of my friends in other faculties.

If you're in a position to pick a field you enjoy, why the fuck wouldn't you do it?

I'm certainly not saying that people should be be picky fucking whiners, sit on their NEET asses and complain because they're never going to be a pro athlete or a famous musician or whatever, but if you're going to spend 8 hours a day doing something for 40 years or more, pick something you won't hate. Your work may not "represent your whole life," whatever that means, but it's sure as fuck a big part of it.

I think it's meaningful that the guy you replied to mentioned medicine and law, both high-status occupations that pull in a lot of money (though that's arguable once you factor in law/med school debt) that nevertheless have HORRIBLE job satisfaction ratings and that many practitioners regret getting into. Go corner a sleep-deprived doctor sometime, if you can catch him when he's not doing paperwork, and ask him if he'd rather have his job, or a 60k / year job that wasn't killing him slowly with stress. Ironically, despite working hard and being paid a lot, doctors are some of the first people to call BS on what you're saying; only get into medicine if you LOVE it.

Got my business major six months ago. Hate this shit. I plan to quit my job, shit's unbearable. Plan to study linguistics (can speak six languages) or textile development (chemisty + physics + design). Is it too late for 23 to study sth. new? I would be around 28-30 if I go for Master degree, but I'm afraid I won't be able to make a jump when I don't quit now. Luckily have no debts and saved up around 5000€ (enought to pay student loans here in Germany).
Also, evening school won't work. With my shitty white-collar degree you can't do any really interesting master degrees.

Finish your major. Never drop out of any major past third semester. If you wish you can get second major in design, management + design is an actual combination that won't leave you jobless.
Keep the job if you like it. In the end that's what's important, if it provides you with finances you need and love it go for it. I worked in management for two years, trust me it's not fun and pretty boring.

For most jobs you can just get whatever 4 year is easiest that you are interested in and that is really what you should do. BA vs BS doesn't matter either unless you are going for a high level position and you aren't because you aren't at a top school.
