I would say get a bit more balance. Right now it looks like it's even length everywhere. If you're going to grow it out it should be somewhat layered. I'm looking for a new haircut, here's a quick rundown:

I need a cut tomorrow and I need a style that's both edgy and good for business-related events, the problem is that I really don't know what I should do with these unruly hair.
The fade+sidepart was good while my hair were short, but they gave off that Mr. Perfect Kid vibe and it's impossible to mantain now that my hair have grown too much.
In the past I've already sported a mohawk, Taxi Driver style, but that too ends up being unmantainable as soon as the hair start curling up.
What should I do?

Some hair is naturally more curly but there are things you can do to give your hair more waviness. Ask your barber to give it lots of layers, when you've just gotten out of the shower dry it a little and while it's still damp apply moose to it. blow dry it and then when it's nearly dry (slightly damp) put a few puffs of hairspray in and scrunch it up in your fists a bit.

It also gives you a lot of options in terms of styling it. You could go with something matte and controlled messy, or use a slicker product and look neat and tidy. Not going to lie, this is a VERY difficult look to achieve, it's all about the fullness of your hair, but slightly wavy is the ideal consistency for this style. If you grow your hair out, it should look something like this naturally. If that is the case, tell your stylist to crop the sides short and layer the top slghtly, and don't blend the sides. Wash your hair well and apply a leave in conditioner like infusium, then blow dry on a no heat setting to avoid damaging the hair and apply a medium hold matte paste, with the hair parted slightly off center, and shape it into place with your hand or a very wide toothed comb.

You could have your stylist try it like that, but I'm not positive it would work the way you're thinking it will. If it doesn't, just trim off the excess, and you can try a somewhat asymmetric side part that hangs to one side. Even if it isn't long enough to cover the ear, it will distract from the asymmetry of the ear height. Not sure what you could do about the lobes, but unless they're like cartoonishly big, it's probably not as bad as you're fearing it is.
