unless you want to be associated with looking like this guy who thinks he has money but doesn't I'd suggest more neutral darker tones for this season, that's what's in right now. Nothing bright and colourful like that (that was last 2 years)

No. Wtf are you talking about? That's just a normal peacoat. That style of garment didn't exist in the 15th century, it only came about in the late 19th century. I mean something as obvious as lapels weren't even invented until the 19th century.

Sure but it isn't that style. Or course they had smocks or something, and maybe they were called cabans too. But that peacoat style is fairly modern. 15th c caban=/=19tc c caban. Ok? None of those sources describe the coat in detail anyway.

this would look ridiculous ina casual urban environment. anyway, look for double versus single breasted. double breasted is better for taller skinnier, single is better for wider shorter people. if you are tall and narrow, then size up in the shoulders to avoid looking like a large tootsie roll. i noticed the other day, if you are tall and have narrow shoulders, and you actually wear a long overcoat that fits you well in the shoulders, then it will look retarded, because it will just look like you are even taller and skinnier and narrower. so if you fit a 40 perfectly, then try a 42 or even 44 and let it droop on your shoulders a bit unless it has stiff shoulder pads then, but this will counteract the tootsie roll effect. conversely, if you are shorter/wider, then getting something fitted very close and snug in the shoulder is important, and you can go longer, because it will make you look taller and narrower.

synopsis:
you = shorter wider shoulders, get longer almost ankle length if you want and make sure it fits tight on the shoulders

you= taller narrower, get shorter length, but wider in the shoulders.

this seems so obvious when im typing it now, but the problem is that you get so fixated on "fit", and so you end up with a coat that "fits" your shoulders, but it doesn't "fit" your body type. so it's counter inuitive, iow throw all the "fit" crap out the window and just look at the overall effect of the coat from far away, even if you know you are a 36. just try a 40 short (even if you aren't "Short"), or a 42 tall even if you aren't "tall" and you are a 46

>> No.12938823

>>12936999
your sleeves might be short for two reasons, one is that you have extra wide shoulders for your height, the other is that you have extra long arms. you could be 6 with narrow shoulders and long arms, and the sleeves will fit the same in terms of length as someone eelse who is 5'8 but has very wide shoulders and short arms
