What kind of clothing style do you think of when you hear "young author?"

Absolutely no suit jackets with patched elbows. I was thinking something more modern like pic related but maybe more professional. Give me some good inspiration so I can look like I know what I'm talking about when I go to pitch my books.

Honestly you gotta go full #menswear

Suits, ties, pocket squares.
Go for unique patterns, materials, and colors whenever possible. Tweed, herringbone, tattersall, knit ties. Read up on the various theories of colors, textures, and patterns, pay attention to what you like and what you don't. Remember that at the end of the day all those rules are just guidelines; even if you fuck it up a little bit in terms of what works or doesn't normies will be impressed.

Instead of worrying about looking like something/someone, just focus on being what it is you want to be and wear whatever you want. If you want to be inoffensive in a professional setting just settle for blazers and tailored trousers, no ties/jewelry or any extra bullshit you see guys at pitti walking around looking like clowns in - you don't have to go full menswear 1.0.
