/fa/ as fuck.
If your laces don't contrast with your boots you look like a construction worker slob.

Using the word cringe is far cringier than using the word bonehead.

Changing the color of your laces has fuck-all to do with skins.

Some reporter doing a poorly-researched piece a while back decided that each color meant something (cop killer, anarchist, white supremacist, etc) and ran with it.

Literally no one it them seriously except easily-scared or easily-duped people on the internet.

Red laces on black boots look great. Straight laced looks clean and well put-together. Go for it.

You will not be mistaken for a skin unless you ALSO have a buzzcut, narrow suspenders, a bomber jacket, your trouser legs cuffed to your knees, a bunch of moronic tattoos, and are surrounded by a bunch of your friends who also are all dressed identically.

All those other others are bullshit, there’s no real connection. But straight-laced black combat boots with white laces are an unmistakable skinhead calling card

white laces have definite connotations, it isn't just made up.
