I'm putting together a costume right now. I'm gonna be zombie ziggy stardust.

For the face paint, I'm gonna make my face pale and make the lightning mark look more bloody/woundish and pour blood all over myself.

Unless I want to spend a lot of money, which I don't, an actual ziggy stardust costume will probably be shitty walmart tier trash, so I'm making my own rendition. Basically, what I'm going for is a dark (to go with the zombie/spooky theme)/spacey/bowie style. I'm thinking something like pic related, but I'm not totally sure yet.

Any suggestions?

God damn that's pretty ridiculous. I typically dress as things most people won't recognise, but those are all things that are already pretty mainstream and shouldn't be that hard to figure out.

The last few years, I dressed up as Hush (batman villain), scarecrow (also batman villain. I didn't want to wear the burlap sap mask all night so it was in my pocket most of the time), black lantern (green lantern villain. I was pretty into comics for a while), Snake from metal gear, and this year I was gonna do Jacket from Hotline Miami but I changed my mind to do this >>12830897 because I didn't want to wear a mask

People almost never get what the costume is at first. Even if I tell them what it is, they still usually don't know what it is. It never really annoyed me though because I don't give a shit if other people get it, I just enjoy dressing up as whatever I happen to be into at the time. It is really satisfying when someone comes up and says they like my costume and they actually know what it is, though.

I actually already have my next two costume ideas ready. I'm gonna get a dog soon and so for next Halloween I'll be Mad Max, and the one after that I'll be John Wick. Both of which probably won't be super recognisable.

My point is, unless you're wearing a costume to impress people, who gives a shit if the plebs get it or not
