Where can I, as a 5’7 manlet, find harness boots like the wyatt boot with a smaller heel. The heel is obnoxiously big and it would look like I’m trying to be taller. Should I just shop for women’s boots like pic related? It’s pretty much what I want

STOP THINKING THIS SHIT.

srsly, 90% of the world are either gonna be around your height or not care enough, and the lot of 'em are adjusted by people's own brains as they interact with the world.

That's right, perception of height can be a very dynamic affair in higher mammals. What counts more than height is confidence, body language and how you speak, because....

could a girl wear black timbs? i'm trying to find some dingy work boots for winter. any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

>> No.12820685

>>12820671
I've seen girls wear timbs but they usually look like shit. Timbs and other modern work boots are heavily padded which looks like crap with the kinds of skinny pants that have been trendy for girls for like 10 years. When you say work boots do you mean that you want actual boots for working in or just work boot style? If you don't need safety features I'd encourage you to look at more combat boot style stuff or at least a more classic/heritage/americana unpadded work boot like red wing Beckmans. Not sure who makes good ones in women's sizes but a lot of those brands run very narrow because the leather will stretch as it breaks in, so if you can make it to a store to try stuff on you might be able to find a size, maybe with an insole, that fits

Hey guys, im having a dilemma deciding on what toe my next pair of western boots should be,

I have a pair of round toes (not pic related) (think basic timberlands) already, but they look bland and i was looking for something that looks "intimidating",

I am down to traditional toe(round in pic related), snips, or squares,

I was them to give off a sense that i can kick your ass in the boots and look effay doing it.

>> No.12820821

I'd really like to get some square toe Tony Lama's, but I haven't found any. They're usually more comfortable to walk in for me personally so I reccomend those

I'd say the type of boot western boot that has the best intimidation to effay ratio is snip toe.
Pointed looks the best imo, but not really intimidating under normal circumstances, and I associate square cuts with labor as opposed to looking effay.

I'd also suggest an exotic animal skin such as pic related

>> No.12821465

>>12821442
Personally I'm never a huge fan of chukkas but they undeniably fit the "smart casual" style that would be considered appropriate for a date. Honestly though anything with a full leather upper that isn't too beat up is dressy enough to go with some nice trousers and a button down, maybe even a blazer. It depends on where you're going though really but I assume you're in college and not going anywhere fancy.

>> No.12821489

>>12821465
yeah, i'm not in college, just places like a regular restaurant, movies, etc yanno. desu i feel like full leather is okay if it isn't black so i would go w/ brown, being that full black leather kind plays an intimidation factor imo, i think wallabies would be nice

Well then for what it's worth the one pair of AE shoes I own runs true to size as did most of the shoes I tried on at the ae store, but I know that I can't fit into pretty much any of their oxfords because the arch is too low for me. Probably wouldn't be an issue if you don't have high arches and probably wouldn't be an issue with derby boots.

I'd go with black though, I feel like they look silly in pictures when they're so polished but I don't think that will last long in real life. The leather will probably get worn and stretched a little bit and give off more of that dull shine in the picture you like - it's chromexcel leather. I Don't have any chromexcel in black to directly compare but my reddish-brown wolverines definitely have a finish that's more like >>12825020 than like >>12825074.

I've never owned a proper pair of boots, so I thought that for this winter I'm going to step up my game. I went to the store, slipped out of my vans and tried on the doc mono 1460's. They fit pretty well but they looked fucking HUGE on my feet. I got intimidated by their size and instantly thought that I looked ridiculous in them. Is it just something to get used to when first starting to wear boots or are the 1460's more on the bulky side of the spectrum? Thank.

especially true if you only wear a single pair all week, every day, every season and through every kind of weather conditions. at that point, only some fugly surplus will last, but even then only for 1-3 years, max.

not telling people to go out and buy 7 pairs of boots for every day of the week, just get a pair of those Austrian paraboots or Corcorans, take good care of them, and "dress-boots" if you so please or another pair of the same boot to wear.

>>12832522
yeah none of those are really dress boots, but the solovair model is better
for boots that are kinda between combat and formal you can take a look at alfred sargent/bowen and brands of the same group. i have my eyes on a pair but gotta wait for winter sale, cause it's pretty expensive (+300 eur)

also, should i cope these or not? from Will's, a pair of faux "vegan" leather made of microfiber. it seems to age well, the design is alright, and it's not expensive. blake stitched, and they seem to have good reviews here and there. that would be the pair i'd wear to let my (nicer) pair of leather boots breathe.

thoughts on these?

need a tan/beige suede boot. Decided after much deliberation and after looking at the options available at my price range that I don't want chelseas, for a multitude of reasons- just doesn't seem worth it unless you're dishing out $$$$ to get the best of the best.

Story Et Fall boots look kind of ass, the heel is a bit much an the shape a bit too feminine. The ordering process also sounds like a nightmare and if you order the wrong size it sounds like you're absolutely fucked, I learned from brands like TOJ, Dayton, Santalum and Sagara to never do the MTO from tiny sketchy brands because it's worth it to pay slightly more to get something that you can actually return if you don't like it, and in some cases you might not even get what you fcking ordered (toj...)

I know Thursday Boots aren't the best quality but they have the nicest profile of the boots in the sub $300 range and most of the issues I read about were related to clicking and loose grain leather, which isn't really an issue with suede.

I've had these boots for a while, but I feel like making some paracord laces because the stock laces are too short to ladder lace.

Since I have a ton of options for colors with paracord, what do you guys think would look good on them? I could always just not be weird and go with black, but I could picture gray/navy blue looking pretty decent and still providing some amount of contrast. I could also get something ridiculous like blue/purple and try to attract a big tiddy goth gf.
