How to get rid of bags under my eyes?

>> No.12813051

I've been using a clay mask to help with oil - on the days that I do, should I not use a cleanser? I'm worried that the two together will dry me out too much and make the problem worse. Currently I do the mask followed by moisturizer 2-3 times a week (washing once a day), and still struggle with an insanely oily forehead. Any advice would be appreciated

You actually need a certain amount of spf product to get the protection stated, 1/4 of a teaspoon for just a face. Applying that amount of Foundation will look cakey and thick so it's best not to rely on foundation but a seperate spf instead.

>>12815612
What skin type do you have? I don't know about scalp honestly but for a basic routine try

Am:
Cleanser - low pH cleansers are better for the skin. You can look online for some, but cetaphil, cerave foaming and cosrx low pH are great cleansers.

Moisturiser+SPF - this depends on your skin type but you should always Moisturise no matter what skin type. Spf is ideal but not everyone is bothered to use it.

Pm:

Cleanser

Exfoliant - you can exfoliate like 2-3 times a week. Don't use scrubs they're bad. Use a chemical exfoliant instead. For acne, pores, oily skin go for BHA's like stridex in the red box, the ordinary salicylic acid, cosrx blackhead power. For acne scars, rough texture and drier skin try AHA's like the ordinary glycolic or lactic acid, cosrx white head power. If ya use an AHA you must use SPF. I tried to keep that brief, but there's a lot of info on it online if you're unsure.

Moisturiser- for night you should moisture too. Good Moisturisers are cosrx oil free birch sap, cerave pm, rosette ceramide gel and cetaphil.

I guess this is the most basic a good routine is but it depends. If someone has acne they probably need a longer routine than someone with good skin.

>>12813617
Cosrx is great honestly because they have good Actives in the ingredients with no unnecessary irritants like fragrance. Definitely try them out

>> No.12816705

Get stridex pads in the red box (green and blue don't work well) and use them every night. A few times a week wash with zinc or sulfur soap but moisturise too

You have beautiful skin. I get those went I eat shitty food like fast food. If you do that too try changing your diet to grilled chicken/fish, vegetables, milk/cereal or anything that's not shitty fast food really. Drinking more water could help.
Another possibility is that you use a bra/shirt that doesn't let your skin breathe properly or rubs against it getting dirt in your pores.

My skin is dry now, it used to be oily and full of acne.

AM:
Just rinse with water
Simple kind to skin moisturiser spf30

PM:
Oil cleansing with coconut oil to remove makeup+dirt
Cetaphil gentle cleanser
Cosrx whitehead power AHA and cosrx blackhead power BHA (alternate between them every other day)
The ordinary granactive retinoid 2% emulsion
Pyunkang Yul essence toner
Superdrug simply pure hydrating serum
Cetaphil Moisturiser

Hello guys,

I have huge pore on my cheeks and I really don't know how to get ride of them. (Pic related but far less worse)

I've read that huge pore are caused because of oily skin, but I think that I have normal skin. I have no acne, or redness, juste huge pores on my cheeks and forehead.

Other question, I'm 21, should I start using night cream for preventing wrinkles ?

I have like 200e budget for this skincare.

I wanted to buy bioderma/avène/Clinic/Clarins products, are they good brands (specially clinic and clarins, treatments seems good)

All I was doing for now is
Wash
Tone
Moisturizer
Sunscreen

I'll buy aswell 1mask per week for re-hydrating the skin.

Please let me know what you think or link me something, I'll keep my research but if someone knows something I'll take it

I use a moisturizer with SPF 30 before my morning commute every day. During summer months I re-apply it at work before going home. I don't wear hats or sunglasses. I have god-tier youthful skin but I'll be honest I'm pretty sure most of it is genetic, my dad looks 15 years younget than he is and he never used any skincare shit. Also as time goes on I feel more and more like a homo faggot for still looking like a teenager (I'm 27) so don't feel that bad for looking older. I went through a NEET depression phase and my skin looks like shit.

Right now I'm just washing with water, then using the Cetaphil basic cleanser, then leaving a film of 0.05 Tretinoin gel over night.

Is there anything else you would recommend?

I originally used the Retin-A gel too close to my eyes (basically right where Pic Related tells you not to apply it) and had a reaction. Starting over now with more care.

Is there any product that I can apply to that sensitive area around the eyes?

/skincare/ noob here, but I've got a job interview as a model this weekend. Been having a few pimples come up recently and I'd like some advice on how to keep them down. My skin is pretty good quality, not oily or anything but I do have minor acne. It's not that noticeable but considering I might be modelling for a little while I'd like to get on top of it. If anyone can reccomend an exfoliating cream that is not too expensive and has no alcohol or other irritants that would be great. For anyone struggling with razor burn/ irritated acne from shaving, using a DE razor is not just a meme. I thought all hope was lost for me because I have extremely sensitive skin and curly hair (which is more prone to razor burn because of how it grows) and shaving with a DE razor felt like it was having no effect, of not making my acne worse. It turns out the blades I was using were complete shit and were basically dull straight out of the package. I bought some highly rated cheap blades online and the different is HUGE. It's so smooth now, I love it. So if shaving with a DE razor isn't helping your skin, make sure you're not using shitty blades. Also use a pre shave oil, I use coconut oil and it works great.

Hello /fa/. I have a couple questions

I've noticed a positive difference ever since I started exfoliating (twice a week) cleansing my face, then using a toner and moisturizing and using a sun cream (blocks both UVA and UVB).

First question: Are these brands ok? I'm using a Simple toner and cleanser, Nivea moisturizer/nivea kids sunscreen and a clean and clear exfoliator.

Also, Do I have to repeat the routine at night? I usually just wash my face. It might get expensive, doing it twice a day.

Also, please rate my skin. I have a couple of blemishes, these lil red spots. idk what they are but I think they might need surgical removal. Also I have really dark and wrinkly baggy eyes and idk what to do about those either.

Thank you.

IMO the most common mistakes people make are either using products that they don't need or using products that they do need but too often. You are right in a way - you shouldn't get too much into it, especially if you have no problems are you are.
That said you can potentially see some skin quality improvement by using a light cleanser (Cerave, Cetaphil, any other brand that makes neutral non-agitating stuff) combined with a moisturizer (again, as clinical as possible, no need for any fancy shit). No need to go crazy, try doing it twice a week at first.

>>12845533
Not sure if it sounds stupid but honestly just sit down in a quiet room, write down every single thing that bothers you/you need to do and work on solving your problems. The way I see it is that stress usually disappears if you know you're working towards a solution and know you're doing your best and you shouldn't be bothered about things that aren't in your control.
A psychologist can help, but nothing helps more than learning to be your own psychologist, try it. Feel well either way.

First off, don't tie your well-being to a condition i.e. "once I land that job, my stress will disappear" because that's just a temporary solution until the next time life throws you a shitty hand - which usually happens, especially if you're the kind of person who does shit.

Second of all, achieving your goals is much harder when on top of what you need to do you add a blanket of stress and anxiety.

Own your life my man, don't let some monkey-tier mechanism in your brain take your feelings hostage for anything. It all fades away anyway and we're just few of countless nameless humans to wander this galaxy in between the non-existence before our birth and the one after our death.

Take 5 minutes to relax whenever you feel stressed, just focus on your breathing and think of how mortal your problems are.

I think you should remember that skin in general (and yours especially if you don't suffer any problems) is resilient - it's a live thing that constantly renews so besides scarring there aren't a lot of ways to permanently damage it - there's almost nonexistent risk of damaging your skin especially if all you use are neutral cleansers and moisturizer without any unneeded active compounds.

The point to skincare is to give your skin the best conditions to heal and grow. Generally speaking my skin doesn't have any unusual problems and I can totally have decent skin by just washing it with water - but when I cleanse and moisturize it goes beyond just being fine and gets to the point where it has a healthy "glow" to it and gets compliments, eventually even the tiniest bits of discoloration that I got from some acne during my teenage years faded away.

You should try it - if anything happens (and I don't think anything will t b h) you can just stop and it shouldn't take long before it goes back to normal.

Your skin looks fine,
I personally had a routine similar to yours - even used the same cleanser and same nivea products at some point - and I found that using less products (dropping down to only cleansing and moisturizing) gave me much better results - in my opinion skin needs to be given a break from too much messing with so it can properly grow, reach natural pH and hydrate itself.
THAT SAID, if what you're doing works for you than keep going by all means, but if one day you find yourself at the point I did - which is that no matter how strictly and long you stick to your routine you always seem to be battling back blemishes - you should possibly consider the idea that you're creating those blemishes by not allowing your skin enough of a break to heal and try and use less harsh products or at least slightly less often - especially exfoliation and toner which imo a lot of people overdo - I explain my logic a bit more here >>12846858

The vast majority of advice you get is going to be bullshit. That goes for everybody struggling with acne in this thread, not just you. Everybody who's practicing good hygiene, that is (and if you wash once a day and also shower regularly, you are practicing reasonably good hygiene). In addition to washing, make sure you're being sensible about stuff like changing your pillowcase, but that's about it.

Specific skincare products or regimens, lists of foods to eat or avoid - no matter how much people swear by their precious little pet remedy, it's all largely bullshit. Especially dietary recommendations. Let me repeat this for everybody: although obviously it's good to eat healthy for other reasons, the majority of the evidence suggests DIET HAS VIRTUALLY NO EFFECT ON ACNE.

Although poor hygiene can make it worse than it otherwise would be, the main causes of acne are genetic and have nothing to do with your lifestyle, and that's backed up by a lot of research. At its heart, acne isn't a skincare problem, it's a bacterial infection that some people are just genetically predisposed to, lucky you. When people are just DEAD SURE that cutting out greasy food or washing with eucalyptus oil or praying to Vishnu at midnight cured their acne that's 99% confirmation bias.

So if you have acne and it just isn't going away, what do you do? Same as if you have any other chronic bacterial infection, go to the fucking doctor. Their first suggestion will not be accutane, by the way - almost certainly they'll put you on antibiotics first. Because acne isn't really a skincare problem, it's a disease. A mild one but still a disease.

I got good results from this method trying to get rid of sebaceous filaments. Instantly made a difference.

1. Rub dry face with Lemon Peeling Gel (SecretKey)
2. Apply BHA liquid, I used COSRX BHA blackhead power liquid
3. let it soak in for about 10 minutes.
4. Apply clay mask to face. I'v tried several, but Indian healing clay+ applce cider vinegar seems to work the best. It's really drying and tightening so only use it once in a while.
5. Wait 15 minutes, then wash off the mask
6. Apply any kind of moisturizer, since this shit will seriously dry out your face.

And then most of my sebaceous filaments were gone, and the ones that remained were a lot less noticeable.

Don't listen to that other anon, moisturizers (even with SPF added) don't contain enough to have the effects of real sunscreen. If you don't like the feel of the sunscreens you've been using, keep trying different sunscreens. Lower SPF usually feels better on the skin and most people shouldn't need more than 30 when it's not super hot outside.

Make sure you exfoliate your skin a few times a week, and try to use a moisturizer close to your skin's natural oils, such as using jojoba oil. Most lotion sold in the market does more ham to your skin than good. My advice is always come as close to being natural as possible; your skin will really appreciate it. I know this isn't the fuckin medical advice thread, but I'm struggling with a horrible full-body itch that looks like it might be dyshidrotic eczema or some kind of folliculitis. I'm itchy every day and every night, I can't get sleep, yadda yadda. It's on my feet, my thighs, my calves, my knees, my hands, my arms, and my ass. I'm also very suspicious that I have it on my scalp, too. Pic related if you think you're smarter than my dermatologist, which you probably are, because she treated me for literally everything else. I've spent like $200 on doctor fees and treatments for fungal, bacterial, and parasitic infections over the last 3 months.

Anyway, I'm planning on taking care of the skin on the precious few areas that aren't all blistered up and itchy, in the hopes that they do not blister up and become itchy. Never done any kind of skin care before, and I'm currently headed down the rabbit hole of eczema-safe moisturizers. Anyone with experience in this area would be a godsend.

In the same vein, I'd love to follow the sticky, but I don't want to run out to fucking Target and buy the first thing called "moisturizer" or "face wash" out of fear that I may react to whatever bullshit they put in it to make it cheaper. I don't have eczema on my face though, so I think I can get away with ignoring any kind of special moisturizers or creams (I'll cross the bridge if I ever get to it). Is there a /fa/-approved kit or something out there that has everything I'll need? Anything that would be good on sensitive/dry skin specifically?

Thanks so much.

Does it itch? Looks erythematous, not acne. If it doesn't respond to acne treatment, talk to a doctor. It might be what's known as butterfly rash which the classical differential symptom of lupus. ANYWAY back on topic, I went out to walmart and was hunting for stuff to get. Does "moisturizing body wash" count as moisturizer? I couldn't find anything that was just moisturizer or just exfoliator, and there was no astringent whatsoever. I'm a hairless blond fuccboi with 1 beard hair and 2 mustache hairs that I keep in check with a pair of scissors, so I'm gonna need a real exfoliator.

Should I just shop online? Are there any good chains that will sell quality skin care products? There are a couple specialty shops (There's a Lather near my workplace that I keep meaning to go visit, but I just know it's gonna be stupidly pricey), would they be good?

>> No.12857263

Really? I know walmart usually has some skincare shit at least. Also, moisturizing body wash does not count kek. Anyway, Target usually has cetaphil/cerave which is decent and not very expensive. They have an ok selection in general. You can also try Ulta or Sephora but it'd be a bit more expensive. When in doubt, there's nothing wrong with buying online. If there's certain products you want, look them up online and see if you can find it. If they have local pickup at a store location near you it's probably instock irl.

I figured I was just a special little milk snowflake who could drink milk without breaking out.

By the way, that "science" is nearly all questionnaires. The two studies I'd consider legitimately scientific (aka, randomized subjects, double-blind, etc. etc.) don't mention milk at all. While I do believe that it's still a valid result, and that cutting out skim milk WILL improve your acne, it's stupid to say "learn to science" and then not read your own research. The only way to know something like this for sure is to control their diets completely and then have an outside observer count the lesions. Until then, it's still just a theory.

Ever since I shaved my legs last year with a dirty razor thats supposed to be used on males faces, I received these small but really red and visable bumps all on my thighs. A couple of them have stayed there and I can't get rid of them. The other 2 times I shaved with shaving powder and I didn't get anymore bumps. But my bumps from last year are still there. I still get them after i shave and I don't use shaving powder.

I've just shaved my lower legs with shaving powder and they are fine. I always make sure so exfoliate before and after I shave. But I didnt the past 4 times I shaved my legs.
And yeah I do put body lotion on my legs after shaving.

They are more red IRL but yeah that them in the pic

My skin is really dry/flaky, and it's making me look a lot older than I am (I'm 18).
Will moisturiser be enough to fix this?

can anyone comment on the effectiveness of laser for scar removal?

So my sister told me that in order to make scars (in my case from teenage pimples and zits) less visible some kind of Aloe Vera gel might help. Do any of you have experience with this?

I sleep 7~9 hours a day, always keep hydrated and use eye serum 2x a day yet I still have massive dark circles like a racoon. Is it genetic?

Haven't heard of aloe helping with scarring, it's usually used to sooth the skin when there's an active breakout/rash going on. Might want to give Vitamin C serum or Niacinamide a shot instead.
