Is it possible to be gray man and /fa/ at the same time? This concept is my ideal.

Not really, the two concepts are fundamentally opposites. One is to stand out and the other is to blend in.

But your ideal really isn't grey man, it's the stereotypical ex-military/I've served at least three tours in the Middle East look. You could consider adding elements of techwear to your everyday look or you could go straight up goth-ninja if you have the cash.

Pics related might serve you well, from a distance it looks generic but choice pieces add flair.

I think the whole concept of the gray man is a bit antithetical to fashion in the traditional sense of trying to stand out by wearing on-trend clothing, but at the same time, if you're trying to be a gray man a crowd of people who happen to be fashionable, you're going to be wearing fashionable clothing too. We should look at the "gray man" as a fashion chameleon who doesn't care so much about "fashion" and instead only cares about a) blending into his environment and b) wearing clothing with technical properties which build upon the prepper/CCW/survivalist mindset.

"Gray man" should be a sub-category of techwear. Instead of dressing like a techninja, "gray men" wear stuff that is less flashy but just as functional (if not more so).

Additionally, the gray man aesthetic can be anything from casual all the way up to semi-formal wear. I haven't seen "formal" gray man pieces yet, but if anyone shows me a tuxedo with good technical properties I'll be impressed because that's some James Bond shit.
