What can I wear with this jacket? Is a hoodie underneath acceptable in winter?

A hoodie underneath can be OK, if the jacket fits so it accommodates another beneath it, but it would be a better idea, I think, to have a woolen scarf around the neck, going down the torso from the inside of that jacket.

Thanks I like both of those ideas

Hoodie seems fine, goes with the Great Lakes-North West aesthetic of Filson.

This is nu-male bullshit. Partly why brands meant for real outdoors men are most popular with try-hard, lumberjanes these days.

A scarf can appear restrained and traditional; just don't wear it outside of the jacket. A hoodie works as well, and if you like the look, that's good.

>> No.12777312

Hoodie is more than acceptable for this.

Also if a jacket doesn't have a collar that can fully button/close around your neck, it's not suitable for cold weather use on its own imo. Having a turtleneck/hoodie/something else that fulfills this function can turn any old jacket/simple work jackets into formidable, functional fall/winter pieces.

>Filson cruiser jacket invented in 1914, for outdoor workers
>Hooded sweatshirt invented by Champion Products in 1930, for outdoor workers

Wow, wearing them together would be such a clash. Yeah, /fa/, what the fuck is wrong with you?

>The hooded sweatshirt is a utilitarian garment that originated in the 1930s for workers in cold New York warehouses.[7]
Hoodies were always urban clothes, but that's not even the biggest problem. They have since become associated with youths, especially lower class and criminals. (Just like the true outdoor aesthetic has been occupied by hipsters and the likes, who while also despicable are quite a different breed.) The soft fabric and unstructured collar look slobbish, especially against the sharp lines of a cruiser jacket. In short, it is ridiculous and utterly mismatched.

Ive since received this in the mail. A rustic but unassuming hoodie looks fine with it, especially heather gray American Giant goodie with thin gray strings, but the "younger" hoodies with thick white hood strings certainly clash

hoodies are never acceptable outside, they're only comfy for homewear.
i'd wear it with fitted but not skin tight black trousers like pic related

The only problem with a hoodie is it's overkill if you live in a big city and are constantly in/out of overheated indoor spaces. Scarves are easy to remove.
