Why does some people have extreme metabolic genes and some dont?

I were chubby 5'10 and 156 lbs. Now im 5'10 and 102. I can't eat anything above 1600 cals because im frightend of getting back to my old routine.

Even worse is that im eating about 1400-1000 a day and im not losing any weight which makes me even more worried of eating more.

I've only been to Prague a few times and it was always completely full of tourists. It's a nice place visually and there is a ton of things to do (mostly drink). It's cheap compared to western EU countries but expensive compared to rest of Czech Rep. and eastern Europe. If you feel like going there, go for it, but like in every big city, hold your friends close and wallet closer. The architecture is the main thing. I'm not entirely sure about how muscle retention relates to the extent of your deficit but I'm pretty sure it's more connected to how much protein you're getting. Regardless of the amount of your deficit I think you'll be losing muscle mass. However, to minimize muscle loss you should workout (Not cardio) and make sure you're eating a shit ton of protein. I'm not 100% on my info so I suggest you do some research of your own but I think if you eat 1300 a day, workout a couple days a week (weights or bodyweight but an actual gym routine would be more effective), and make sure to get a healthy amount of protein, you should minimize how much muscle you lose while also losing fat.

That's losing 1.5lbs per week to start and then it would get slower as your bodyfat got lower. The biking would help speed it up. I guess I wasn't clear but all I meant was it's destructive to think of this lifestyle as "fasting" -- it carries implications I dont like, as if three meals a day or 6 small ones are more "normal" and I'm otherwise being restrictive.

Personally I eat One meal a day at dinner time and sometimes a small snack midday, I would not have it any other way, I dont get hunger pangs anymore and stopped caring about food except when it's time for dinner.

BUT if I kept thinking every day I'm "fasting" it would make it seem like something negative imo

Oh fuck guys, I'm doing IF on 1200kcal a day but horrible shit is piling up. Depression is back fucking me in the ass and I don't know what to do.
