Cheap overpriced crap. This bullshit is all made in China you can buy it directly from there for a pittance. Or better yet find a real watch with a minimalist design.

How about Mondaine? Real design pedigree, not expensive at all on the bottom end, includes both quartz, automatics and HAQ.

Nomos has minimalist Bauhaus aesthetic too, with in-house movements at reasonable prices.

rolex assumes that if you can afford a rolex, you can blow hundreds, if not thousands to service it and keep it up to snuff. however, depending on whether or not your grandfather kept all his paperwork and you have that in your possession may be helpful, he may have lifetime warranty for certain adjustments
that being said, replacing the dial and hands is a practical full makeover; i see nothing wrong with how it looks now but to each their own

This arrived today, early 60s hamilton vantage, after fixing the second hand catching (it came tightly wound, i let it rest and this remedied itself), it runs nicely. Anyone know why the springbar is so hard to remove? The strap looks nice on it but the leater is cracked so dont want to wear the strap often and want to replace it with the metal band it came with. Will i need to cut the strap or springbar to remove it if the springbar has seized up?

The left one is reissue of the Kirova chronographs made by the Soviets after taking over the watch factories of Tutima and Hanhart chronographs at the end of WW2. It's actually quite solid but the previous owner decided to paint the upper pusher with red nail paint in order to make it look more like a modern Hanhart watch and it ended up looking tacky.

What are some luxury brands I should look into that I can buy for $400 used on say Ebay? That's my budget. I want something with a stainless steel band, no quartz shit either.

Would appreciate an answer as soon as possible.
